anyone have an answer to my last question? This morning I replaced the RCA's and the problem is still occuring... I've ruled out pretty much everything except the head unit ground, which I still need to figure out where it is

did you do anything with the remote wire. my comp amp was thumping cause i didnt have it hooked up to the head unit. i had it hooked up to the fuses.

The remote wire is connected where it should be on the head unit... This is really weird because I've never had the problem before with the same equipment. I have re-wired the system from the ground up and it is still doing it. A few days ago all that was wrong was the thump/alternator whine, but now my subs/midrange speakers move in and out slowly and do not really produce music accurately. Do you think some of my equipment got damaged somehow?

i dont know shit, but it sounds like the HU. i dont understand what you mean by the speaker moving in and out slowly.

No... when I re-wired it from the ground up I did but by then I was having all those problems already

try regrounding you HU ground first. and if that dont work, see if you can find another HU to see if it is the HU.

How do I know which wire is the Head Unit's ground? It isn't labeled

and you had a ? on how to find it. just take the black wire on the HU and add some wire to it and ground it somewhere else. some ppl run a wire back to the bat neg.

if that does work, i would probably try to find a working HU and plug my rca and remote into that and seeing if that makes a difference.
