on/off switch

A relay in the same location can also save your butt should something bad happen involving the remote line. They can be had wherever you find your switch.

Also, not to bicker or anything, why not just turn off the HU?

from the HU i went out from the power cont. and ran a switch from there and continued to run it to my sub amp, has never been a problem
The X790 can defeat the signal being fed to the sub amp from the face of the unit.

If your only consideration was being able to eliminate sub output quickly why bother with running a switch when the deck can already do that for you? Well, it doesn't turn the sub amp off but it does turn off the subwoofer preout signal which will give you the same end result: No sub output

I think what he's trying to get at is he wants a really fast way to turn his system off cause of the 5-0 by him thats why he said a switch like could he this is what im getn from what hes sayn.

I have no idea what he's trying to say.

What he did say was that he included an on/off switch inline for his sub amp.

With that in mind my question still remains ~ his HU can quickly (less than a second) defeat the output from the subwoofer preamp outputs so his use of a switch for the sub amp, in my opinion, was more than a bit redundant.
