my freind is selling his cutlass supreme SL 2 door. it has about 115,000 on it. i cant remember right off hand the year i think it is 95-97, one of those. it runs good and is in mint condition. he said it get around 30mpg. i was wondering is this is a good car to buy? and problems with them that i could expect in the future? any input would be appreciated. also i can get it from him for about 2000$. thanks

one thing i know off the top of my head is a lot of oldmobiles in the 90's have problems with their emissions systems, and the parts changed a LOT because of the problems they had, so some years parts are nearly impossible to find, even from a junkyard.

I had a 97 cutlass supreme. There's no way in hell he is making 30mpg. Driving mostly highway, I got about 26. Mine was in nice shape but was expensive to keep up. I had an aftermarket powered sunroof in it. I ended up selling it for 3200 although it was in amazing shape. It had 125,000

Well, struts went out on me when I hit (one) pothole. They were less than one year old. The rear brakes AWLAYS grab and scrape. Every Cutlass I've ridden in had that problem. My car developed a crack in the radiator tank. The cooling loop gummed up all nasty like. It was a nice car, just problematic - at least for me.

those are nice cars i almost picked one up i have wanted the one with the lip spoiler too. o and that black on in the pic does have the lip spoiler u have too look closely

Nope, just a reflection. The ones with the lip spoiler, you can tell 100%. They use completely different lights and everything - to match the spoiler.
