Older Kicker Subs

I was wondering how were Kicker's subs in the past couple years. I have heard that they have been getting worse and worse each year and have been unimpressed as the years continue. Does that mean later models were better in SPL and SQ? I ask this because I can get a good deal on an older model sub. More specifically, the 2003 Kicker Comp VR. I would like some input on Kicker's older sub models before I jump on the deal.

Eh, I think a lot of that comes from the fact that many people use the l7's and l5's in an spl environment. I have not heard any recently myself, but I know that some of the recent sq winners (Iasca? Not sure which org) were using kicker speakers.....Take this as you will. Do a search too, I'm know the subjects been discussed a few times before.

In my oppinion they are only getting better. I had the 03 CVR 12s and they really hit hard. I recently went to 06 CVR 15s ported and they are even better
