Hey everyone!

So basically i inherited 2 of these in a sealed box. They are the 8 ohm version. Ive been reading up on the forums and now I'm debating if these are worth buying an amp for or figuring out something else. My budget is around 400ish. The car is a 98 integra hatchback and I'm going for more sq over just straight loudness.

Those are decent, get a 2 channel amp that does around 350~550 watts RMS and bridge it at 4 ohms then wire the two 8 ohm subs you have in parallel.

Something inexpensive like this would work well

^^^It doesn't really do 1400 watts, probably like half of that.

Hey thanks wingman! Yea i was planning on a 2 channel and running 4ohm.

Just wanted to make sure the subs were worth a **** before i got a amp. Some of my buddies were telling me they ****** cause they were 8 ohm and to get 2 10s or a 15 instead..I didn't think that sounded right but no point in arguing with people that know everything lol

The impedance of a sub doesn't really matter on the quality, it is just for matching amplifiers to a proper load. MTX at one point made 12 ohm subs(for their prefab boxes) and quite a few subs back in the early 2000s were dual 6 ohms. JBL made some subs that were 5 ohm. Serious SPL subs are sometimes dual 1.4 or .7 ohm.
