Older jl audio 10w6's??

was going to get the newer 10w6v2's but due to the mounting depth of my box in my truck i went with the older 10w6's. got them ob ebay for $300 with about 4 hours total playing time on them. anyone had any experience with these? are are they in sound and output? any info appreciated.

I've run them before. Very good sound and incredibly efficient. They also favor a tiny sealed box. Don't bother with ported, you won't be able to get them to sound right. In a 2 cf sealed box (total for all 3 subs) you won't need more than 500-600 watts to get the most out of them. They'll get loud enough fo most people with that amount of power. I was quite happy with the accuracy I got out of mine as well. They were one of the best subs of their day and they're still quite good.

i had 2 10w3v1's in the same box that they will be going in and i was very happy with those. i just want more sq and output. i think the mounting depth is only like 5".

I had 2 older 8w6 subs a while back and they sounded real good.

should be here by wednesday next week. right now i have some diamond audio d6's but they sound like crap in my box at high volumes. could that be due to the lack of air space? theres like an inch between the magnet and the bottom of the box on each chamber. what are the older w6's compared too?

i would if i had the space. i have an dodge quad cab and i have a custom built box under my rear seat. i had a 15l7 in a ported box but i took it out cuz it took up half of my seat.

the 10 w6's you will love they sound real good that was my first set up,then upgraded to the w6 12's and i hit 142 in my camaro and they are over 10 years old and been beatin and they are still kicking got them in my room now.

I ran mine ported in a 6 cube box off of a PPI A1200.2 and holy shit they got loud and sounded great. I hit 153 on the old Audiocontrol 160

I have 3 JL 12w6v1 is a 6.65 cube box ported...sounds good only 300w to each..very clear and loud...i would recommend w6s old schools to anyone who can get their hands on any...hard to find..3 of them on ebay for 150 each on buy it now..prolly gone by now
