Older guys=sealed, Younger=ported

.......thats the way I see it most of the time. The younger guys want to BOOOM, and dont care as much about the sound as they do about knockin down trees with bass. Once a guy matures a bit, he realizes there is much more to car audio than just the loudness of the bass. sealed is just a bit too quiet for me... never really heard a loud sealed setup, that's why i have never went that route

edit: not that i want LOUD, rather i don't want to have to buy more subs lol

It's not like you can't get awesome sound quality with a ported system.....

x2, i bet mine is gonna be one of the best sounding systems i've heard(not that that's hard) and it'll be ported, 2 claw magnums tuned to 29hz.

i dont think its depends on age jus what peoples preferences are. And most people who dont know bout car audio go with sealed cause not every store has ported boxes. for me it depends on the sub wether i go ported or sealed.

I'm going to go with a 15" ported and I am not really looking for db but SQ, I have a SE 12" right now in a big box for a single 12" and I have it tuned more SQ than SPL...

older guys have just lost their hearing from having "ported" when they were young. So since we can't hear anyway, and ported costs more than sealed, might as well save the money for more bells and whistles.
