-2 Ohms - 35 watts per channel continuous power, both channels driven into 2 Ohms from 20-20,000Hz with less than 0.1% THD

Frequency Response - 20-20,000 Hz +/- 1dB

Bandwidth - 15 - 100,000 Hz +/- 3dB

Damping Factor:

At Circuit Board - over 200 (at 4 Ohms)

At Speaker Lead - over 50 (at 4 Ohms)

EQUALIZATION:

Bass Boost: 0 to +18dB maximum at 45Hz

Treble Boost: 0 to +12dB maximum at 20,000Hz

PROTECTION:

The Punch 45HD Mosfet is protected by two 3-Amp speaker inline fuses and by a 15-Amp battery fuse. A thermal switch shuts down the amplifier in case of overheating. Internal circuitry limits power in case of overload.

DIMENSIONS:

6.6" Long x 8.6" Wide x 2.2" High

Again, I've done a video overview of this amplifier. Just displaying the amp, connections and some facts about the amp. Also, I incorrectly mentioned the actual specs from the "birth sheet". It stated 91 watts/ch into 2 Ohms (not 92 as I mentioned) I'll do a sound test in an upcoming video, so stay tuned! I also have other tests including Punch 30, 75, 150, a few newer amps and a Hafler MSE88tn.

I have several of the old school punchs and haflers all good amps
No doubt. There are also some "old school" sleepers out there from Sony and MTX, but RF has always been my favorite. I may pick up an old school Orion HCCA225 tomorrow locally. Always wanted one of those for some reason.

I just looked at the ampguts website and it appears some of the HCCA225's did have a bass control? I've only seen a picture from the top of the one I may buy.

Orion HCCA225

The 225HCCA model I bought was the "flip top" model with the crossover and does not have any bass control. This amp is STRONG though! I'll have to see if I can find enough subs to get it down to a 1ohm load bridged and run it through my tests....

Added a video showing the P45HD pushing (2) Kicker 10" Solobarics. The mic was not close enough to the subs to get the full effect, but trust me, they were THUMPIN'.

Enjoy!

See the embedded video below or click the link for the HD version.

1 ohm LOL. Get down to .5 and watch those old red orions go.

IIRC we used to run some pretty absurd low loads on those Punch amps as well. 1/2 ohm tri-mode the only amp in the car sort of thing.

One of my first amps was the old 45's growing up was one of these, I loved it!!!!!! I had two kicker Stillwater 15's on it at one time and it was loud!! tried to kill it just so I could get a bigger amp, but she wouldn't die. One of my boys still has her till this day. great great amps

I know exactly what you mean! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif

Started out with 1 Punch 45, then 45 & 75, 75 & 150 & now 2 Punch 150's from 1989, just before the HD models. I have been faithfully running my 2 150's from then until now & absolutely love them! Still able to amaze & keep up if not surpass the new school especially in clean SQ!

I ran 4 Kicker Free-Airs off one RF Punch 45 (model preceding the HD series) back in the late 80's. Hard working little amps but, they couldn't hold a candle to the HCCA 225.
