old mtx woofuhz

i have 2 12's mtx pointe series woofers. iwanted to know what kind of sealed box ,if any could they sound decent in? or are they just made to be in a ported enclosure? also how do they compare with mtx's thundercast sub woofer?[btw this sub was old too. year 96 or so] they looked the same to me except for different name on dustcap.
