well i got my replacement sae1000d the other day and got it installed. checked all my wires before and after i put it in and everything looked fine. i go on a ride for ~20 minutes and the amp cuts out. not like the other one did where it would cut in and out , once it stopped , that was it. i had to turn on and off the HU and that seemed to fix it. i thought i might of been too volume happy so i checked the gains and they were at 30vac @ 60 hz 0db. sqrt(1000x1) = 31.6vac. correct me if im wrong.

well today it happens again while driving to downtown. it was pretty annoying. so i get to where im going and check up on it. no power or protect lights are on. wtf. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif i just got back and dmm'ed everything and everything seems to be a-ok. rca's are sending signal , i restripped the remote lead in case it was that , 12.xx at the amps terminals , no bass.

playing around with it i realized , when i turn it on , the protect will light up for a second then go away but the power light will not light up at all. the amp clicks like its turning on and off but there is no power or protect light on. maybe im being retarded and missing something , but im sure im not. im going to run through it again but maybe someone can point something out for me?

audio doesnt like me any more. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif !

*just went out and checked one more time and it did the same thing. it worked fine for ~10 minutes then turned off. i noticed both the protect and power lights light up then protect turns off and power stays lit , it plays fine. then when it turned off , i turned on/off my HU and only the protect light would turn on and off , no power light. i didnt even turn it up much because i was sitting in my driveway so i know im not clipping it. its really ****ing annoying.

went out there again to meet my gf and it worked fine and didnt cut out on me but i was only in there for 5 minutes. i guess it works when it wants to.

check to make sure your fuse is tight...same kinda thing happened to me and come to find out it was loose...

checked the fuse at the distro block but not under the hood. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

i got an anl type fuse holder. i tightened down one side and slid it into the other and screwed it shut like that. as far as i know , i cant screw down both sides of the fuse holder so one will always be more loose than the other. it wasnt 'falling off' loose but loose enough to slide the other side of the anl in there. ill check it out.

all the fuses are fine. i retightened? up the fuse under the hood and it seems to be fine now. it might be that i just overlooked checking the one up front. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif ill find out the next time i have to go somewhere.

grounds are secure. i just went and had a listen while i waited for the pizza man to come and its fine now. so i think that may have been it as frustrating as it was...

have you checked your wires on the sub, make sure they're not touching each other or metal somewhere. I had a similar problem with my speakers and it ended up being my speaker terminals were touching the metal on my door.

Run a TEMP remote wire to the amp and see if that does it. I had a problem with a remote wire shorting out and turning the HU off/on would "fix" it, so it could be the same problem...

that what i thought it was at first, but the problem seems to be gone now. fuse must of been really loose under the hood.

thanks for the help/suggestions. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
