I THINK I HAVE A SHORT in my factory wiring.................OK put it like this all my wires and grounds for the amp are ok. When i plug my First HU in and turn the HU on then i click the settings for subwoofer to ON....the music came on just fine, but when i went to adjust the volume from the amp so the subwoofer would get louder it did not get louder as i put the volume up so then i went to adjust the amp settings and my HU just cut completely off then on...Then i found out that the ground for the RCA SUB OUTPUT that is in the HU was burnt Then i hooked up my second HU because i thought that the first was just not Good...So when i put the subwoofer settings ON, in my second HU the subwoofers never came on at all then the deck compeletly died??? but my amp never was in protection mode nor had any bad smells to it??? so can it be a short somewhere like the factory ground/ACC/BATT wire that runs to the HU that is bad or could it just be the amp itself thats killing my HU's? This the first time this ever happen since i been hooking up car audio

Wow, is that all one sentence?

You're right to suspect a short, I would too. But I think it's just in the RCAs. Go get a cheap new pair and try that.
