ok i hit 127 db's

Build a new box. Also, make sure your subs are wired correctly. You want a 1-ohm final load. If the two subs are dual-4 ohms each, they should be wired as such:

Edit: Actually, I just found out that your subs are either single-2 or single-4 ohm, so that diagram does not apply. Can you tell us what they are?

that amp is not 1 ohm stable.

this is a a prefabbed box and sub combo by jl audio bought all together come all together wire at 2 ohm final impedance

yea, it is still a small enclosure. I see them here all the time. They don't sound to bad, but lack low end in my opinion. Change your enclosure out for a ported one as stated many times, that would be a different beast. I would beat you won't even buy new subs lol

i got a 138.3 from 6' away at 30hz. u should have no issues coming close to that at least with a good box.
hahahaha...oh man...that just made my day //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

and it's jl audio y0'z..should be good for a 180 right?! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

2 problems!

the box

the placement

the box should rear fire 4-5" off the back hatch. this will gain 2-5db rite there.

you are getting alot of cansulation being almost mid cabin, you wont get any cabin gain...

The guy not only knows how to build em, but knows how to set em up as well. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

OP what he is talking about is called corner loading, having them 4-5" from the rear. I have an hhr as well. That is the loudest position to put them. Face the seat, fire up, down, sides or to the rear with a lot of space and you get the cancellation he is talking about. The bad part of an hhr is you have to chase rattles all over the **** thing because the plastic panel interior resonates like hell. There is a pretty thick rubber liner under the carpet as a plus. But the little pop out covers to hide the bolts are a pain in the *** to get them to quit rattling. As is the back gate and the dash trim panels for that matter. They need quite a bit of deadening in them. And a silicone glue or equivalent non permanent type, to make the bolt access panels not rattle even after deadening them. I still have to silicone the cover panel at ear level where the seat belt bolt is. It is driving me nuts but I can not ever think to get the glue when I am out.

SPL interested in your port location recommendation. After I figure out the subs I want, will be building a new box.

Thanks

if you have enough room with ur box i would fire out the drivers side.

just make sure there is enough room for air flow behind the sub in the box.

to dampen the plastic pannels use liquid sound deadener works great there is no problem with irregular shapes. just scotch brite the surface first then clean...

off 900 watts my polk 10s hit 135.7 ported. so if u just go ported u would score well.

if the box is small for the subs, u should build a slightly bigger one, u will do better on the meter and it will get lower for a better sound.

can those subs really even handle 1500 watts? still a low score for what you have though
IDK but the birth sheets they post up on the zx1500 go from 17-1900 pretty often.

Working with him in PMs on a new enclosure //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif maybe even new subs to handle that power.
