Ok.. 4 18" Nightshades, and 2 SAZ 4500s in a Durango.. Advice?

LOL.I try to be a reasonable kinda guy.A lot of people are going to say to tune to something stupid low like 26 hz. That is great if your music library consists of about 5 songs that sound great at 28 hz. I can play just about anything and sound good from rap, rock, country to Godsmack and everything is good. The Decaf stuff rocks in the Durango_OH...and he owes me for a broken mirror...LOL
I knew there was a reason why we clicked, I swear the "Florida" thing is upon us. 25hz tuning, why in the fuck??????? For what reason, you plan on demoing only chopped and screwed......

Only reason I said a wall. Is beacause I have had many powerful, non wall builds.... They made things shake rattle and roll. And sounded like **** doing it...... Only when I committed to a wall, was it when I could hear nothing but bass. No rattling, just bass, from then me and my friends were hooked....... If you are into ghetto *** rattling you are either some jig noob, or some wangsta noob.....

Hey...just remembered...How long did it take to fix your windshield after the Automotive Innovations show?Did you find a place to do it the same day?

I would have to concur on that one.Anything tuned that low is probably cool to walk by in a show somewhere.BUT worthless to own..IN MY OPINION //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I think the Nightshade's build has a lot of possibilities.I do not know about facing the subs up like that though.DDBump did that for a little while, and then went to a wall after a few weeks (that was 4 18's as well).

That is what I am getting at, when you go that big, you eventually go to a wall. I am just trying to save op some money, by suggesting he go wall right off the batt.....

I fell asleep getting my windshield replaced, girl could not wrap her mind around the fact that some small subs could do that. As much as I wanted to show here, we had to wait for the glue to dry...... That will happen more often now with the van......

Haha I was there when the windshield broke.. I even took a vid of you running after it was cracked.. Was making sure I had it on camera if it broke completely..

But Maybe ill try and convince the guy to go with the wall idea.. Ive only built 2 walls and both were nothing compared to the size and potential as a build like this.. Thats one of the main reasons im making sure I get any and all advice I can before starting.. I can definitely do it, just want to do it right the first time and have the customer leave happy. I havent done any measuring since he decided to remove the back seat but towards the back its only around 36 inches wide, so my original idea of having the subs sit next to each other got changed if I have a set back there. Would staggering the subs slightly so they all fit properly work too? And how many sq inches of port would I need to fit for the size of this box..

From memory ... I think it is 42 1/4 wide between the wheel wells. There are a few different ways to go with the port.I have 16 square inches of port per cubic foot, and 18 inches deep. That puts the my wall right at 38hz.

Aside from the annoyance of not being able to use the rear view mirror. I think the customer would be pretty damn happy with the out put of the wall versus subs up port back. This build should get pretty damn loud once it is all said and done. Make sure you do a build log once this is all said and done.....

Your roof dont wave/rattle? Windshiled, doors? Dash.......I mean that makes 0 sense to me. And if you are over 150 DBs.....then it dont flippin matter what rattles, ish is gonna rattle and unless you have a ton of mids and highs and plenty of power to give those, the bass more than likely is going to overcome most....even the rattles, that is till you step out yo ride.

My Protege5 that was walled off with 2 Kove Armagedon U2's and two Modded 1501D MTX subs doing over 2k each and was in mid 150's rattled quite a bit, doors waved litterally, lol! Car looked like it was gonna explode....had a ton of Hushmat deadener in that.

Roof did not flex, the doors them selves flexed from the pressure. Windshield eventually gave way at the last show I went to. But for the most, shit sounded good. I guess each vehicle is diff, I guarantee if these guys do sub up port back. This Durango will flex like a motherfucker. I suppose the crowds will like it I guess....

He has decided a wall is the way to go after he did some research of his own. Now just gotta get the stuff ordered. December is when some of the products will be available though. Thursday is the day to start ordering though..

What do you guys think for deadener and how much of it?

And for wiring.. How much 0 would you guys think to make a few runs, and wire up 4 amps and 8-10 batteries.. Im having trouble deciding on how much it might take..

Hmm.. well I was gonna run a 4500 to each pair.. Wonder if itll be good enough..
Will be much better off then a 4500 on each, a 3" coil will simply not take 4500W daily without blowing.

I would do Second Skin or that stuff twistedchild420 used for deadner. I don't like Kinetik batteries is would use Batcap or XS power. I would run a **** ton of 1/0.
Fuck Kinetik, XS Power, Batcap...fucking overpriced ass batteries. Deka, C&D Technologies, Sprinter, etc. is where it's at.....

No reason to tune below 33, honestly...but I wouldn't go higher than 35 either.

Deadener? For four 18's? You're gonna need to start reinforcing the roof and panels with steel.....

At least five runs of 1/0 rated at 300A each...
