That's really good money if you are in the paradigm of wages. If you spend that money wisely you can be out of the employment trap very fast just off labor.

yes i just started working on an offshore oil rig .. its a GREAT job ... i work 14days on 14 off my last paycheck for 14 days was around 5 grand ( overtime is lovely ) .... granted the work is very dangorous and hard along with working 12 hour shifts 14 days in a row is not so easy but you get used to it .... then you get 14 days off..... i enjoy it and will work out here until i retire ... i am just a rigger/roustabout right now but i will be working on moving my way up to making $250,000++ a year and i will retire at 45-50 .....

if you want any more info just PM me ....

now if your talking about working on a landbased oil rig ,.. then HELL no go offshore they take care of you really well

Sidney, my parents moved there back in the 80's following the last oil boom there.

I miss the hunting and fishing there, otherwise every other aspect of living there sucked.

i dont work any harder then i was working constuction .... and as you move up the work gets easier i am going to college to maintain the pipeline ( on a production rig) my job will basicly consist on sitting in the galley all day eating t-bone steaks and watching tv going ouside a few times a day checking gauges ...

doing this i will make over $200k a year ..... .... i know your always short on cash yourself your should pm me so i can get you into the oil/gas industry .. you live close enough to the gulf .... dont you want to be able to do like T.I say "baby you can have whatever you like" ... .

Live in Wyoming, and our economy is one of the few going up because of the oil booms around here. We have the largest natural gas fields and newbies to the rigs (Worms) make 25 an hour startin out.. 7 on, 7 off schedule
