Oil down over $13 in 3 days.

Sorry I was baiting you, solar and wind are a pipe dream. Nuclear would lower our demand, but pansy democrats won't let us build plants anywhere.

Don't forget about the Environmentalists that are in the ears of those Democrats that are pulling their strings.

I know, I'm just drawing the comparison to point out that he's the one helping America.

Oh yea genius? Some my how it is mathematically possible for gas to be more expensive now than it was $13 dollars ago. If that was the case where I am, the gas stations should have been paying ME $9 dollars a gallon just to fill up.
Lol, I wouldn't say Bush is helping America, but nothing has been so far. Also the price of oil went down $16 barrel now, but thats per barrel, that is not per gallon of gas. Also, it does take a little while to catch up as the gas they are selling now was purchased at the higher price supposedly, not so sure I believe it but that is what they say.

You are blinded by your hatred towards all things good, my son.

I know that, but the other guy said GAS, not OIL barrels. Those are far from the same thing. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Here ya go, this is ANWR's actual size. The whole thing is the size

of South Carolina. The state of Alaska is obviously huge, like almost

third the size of the continental US. The yellow and green areas are

ANWR:

Here is the proposed drilling site in the winter:

Here is the same site in the summer:

I say we start drillin wherever we can. Sure we need to invest in alternative fuels, but what do we do until they get here? Do we just let the oil prices starve us all out so we can't afford to put money into alternative fuel research, or do we address our present needs (more oil) so we can sustain ourselves until we get to where alternative fuels will be a reality?

Cheering on the price of oil and wishing for an alternative isn't going to do dick but break us.

Its just so awesome that Bush lowered the price of oil these past few days, we needed the help and he changed it for us //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Cost me 42 dollars to fill my tank at 3.50 a gallon. Car has a 12 gallon tank.

Cost me right at 50 smacks at 4.10 a gallon right now.

If it comes down some, that is nice, but not going to say OMG, thank god......some relief!

I fill up twice a month most times. So 16 dollars a month is not enough to make my jump for joy!

I am sure it would be worse if I was driving a gas guzzeler, but traded that in at just the right time.

So until gas comes down below 3 bucks a gallon, I could care less.

Don't forget fuel prices effect the products you purchase by way of transport costs, manufacturing costs, etc

Lol, I am not blinded we just share a difference of opinion on politics. As for the second part, I never noticed he said gas, I assumed he ws still talking barrels since that is what the thread is about.

I agree to an extent, we do need oil to help alleviate global demand pressures, however, we must also invest in alternatives at the same time. In the 70s when this happened people thought we needed to invest in alternatives, but once prices returned they forgot all about that, at this point we can't forget about it. I think there should be a 1 for 1 matching requirement, for every dollar spent to drill new oil a dollar has to be spent on research into alternatives, I think that is a fair compromise.

A 1 for 1 matching would be nice but where is that extra dollar gonna come from?

I agree though, we need to find a balance of further oil exploration along with alternative fuel research. I think if we drop the ball on either we will fail.

Very right there. Also, I am a HUGE supporter of nuclear, seriously, we need more. If we went to nuclear power generation and developed ne battery technology that would get us 500-600 miles on a charge along with quick charging technologies we would be set.
