what is the difference between a 2ohm and 4ohm sub? and how would you connect it to a amp say the diff. between a 4ohm 2ohm and 1ohm load.???? can anyone help me? I wanna buy a one channel mono amp but don't know the diff in ohms or how to hook it up. yeah i know its kinda noobish haha thanks to anyone who can help

In a series circuit: R = R1 + R2 + R3 .... etc.

In a parallel circuit: 1/R = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3 ... etc.

The lower the resistance (measured in ohms) the more current that will be drawn from the amp.

say you have an amp capable of one ohm @ 1000w

if you have a 4 ohm that is 1000w capable you may only be getting 600-700w from the amp

the lower the ohms the more current flows through the subs

just like a hose if you have a 1 inch hose and a 2 inch hose more water will flow through the 2 inch than the 1 cause there is more space/less resistance.

plan on getting the autotek 1900 super sport mono amp and 1 orion Orion HCCA-12.4 4 ohm or 2 ohm 12. i just dont know wheather or not to get the 2 or 4 ohm sub or is there a diff. or not? but i do plan on getting 2 12's eventually. but going to start off with one for now.

You have to match the nominal impedance of the subs to the amp.

If your sub is a DVC 4 ohm sub that handles 600w RMS, then you need an amp that does 600w @ 2 ohms (for example)
