ohm's.. what the???

hey all..

i was hoping i could get someone to explain ohm's to me?? i'm not an installer and haven't gone to school for anything electrical.. may seem like a dumb question but i'd like to know what the difference between 1-2-4-8 ohm means when it comes to installing?? i've been gradually upgrading my system and now i'm getting into the higher end stuff with different ohm's?? i just wanna make sure i'm installing it properly and that i have the right power for my system?? if anyone knows of a link where i can actually see how it works that would help too??

here's what i got...

eclipse 8455 hu

focal 165 k2p's upgraded version (front)

focal 130 cv1's (rear doors)

focal 25 a1's (ported box)

audison srx 2s (front)

audison srx 3 (rear/sub)

is there a certian way to install besides just wiring direct like a normal system?? the srx3 can be changed from 2 to 4 ohm's but like i said i'm not really sure what all that means??

makes two us lol.. i like doing my own installs but the more i read on here it's becomming more clear i don't know as much as i thought i did??

I didn't really understand ohm till...well really still dont. just a matter of calculation basiccaly....if you have 2 4 ohm subs, and have an amp capable of handling a 4 ohm load...well you just wire those 2 subs to a 4 ohm load. as if i had 2 1ohm subs...i would use the wire diagram for 2 2 ohm subs wired @ 2 ohms...since they are 1 ohm subs it halves the ohm load to 1 ohm according to the diagram. To me its the lower impdendance you go the more power the amp puts out, the more resistance there is i think.... so if your runnin a low ohm impendance load youll need a better eletrical cause youll blow something. but i ran 1500W @ 1 ohm on stock eletrical with no problems..but then agian...idk..im still learning //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
