Search doesn't seem to be working, so sorry if this is a question that's already been talked about.
Here's the hypothetical: a sub with 1000W RMS, 2 ohms DVC wired in parallel for 1 ohm
You have two of these subs in one box and you need ONE amp to power BOTH.
What I can't decide is if each sub is set for 1 ohm, does the amp encounter 1 ohm impedance or is it 0.5/2ohms?
I'm not sure how the wires run (or if that makes a difference). If there are two speakers, are there 4 wires running in the box to them? (2 pos, 2 neg) or is there a positive running to one speaker and a negative to the other, then the 4 voice coils wired together in parallel?
Real world prob: TS-W3001D2 (Pioneer 12" 2 ohm DVC, 1000W RMS, trying to find an amp to power two of them. Want to do an all Pioneer system if possible, but that's not really necessary.)
P. S.
I don't have the speakers yet, I'm just looking around. There is a 4 ohm DVC version as well. Also, I really just want the answer to the hypothetical, but I'm open for suggestions to the real world problem as well.
Lastly, just as a quick side question: would this sub setup (2000W RMS, 6000W Peak) along with 600W (peak) of door speakers require any extra batteries, new alternator, etc...?
