Ohms and Sound Quality

Recently, I tried running my 2 4ohm DVC subs at a 4ohm configuration vs my original 1 ohm config. I noticed that bass sounded better. Its hard to explain, but its almost as if the bass sounded "cleaner" and or "sharper". It sounded more detailed and precise rather than "muddy". Like I said its hard to explain. The only problem is that the output was lowered a lot! It would not get nearly as loud. This so-called "test" was conducted using a rap song that Ive heard a many times before., and have a very "picky" ear.

Has anyone else tried this? I need some opinions.

I was just asking if anyone has ever tried something similar with the same subs, amps and song. Thats it. I knew some people would get butt-hurt over the concept, but thats just the way it is.

No, it's just your feeble mind can't grasp the true concepts or reasons to why the results of your scientific test (//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hilarious.gif.02a037aad04aa96f19982b298a3d70a8.gif) are as such...

Well, since you have such a vast amount of knowledge in the car audio field, why dont you go ahead and explain in detail, how there is no way I could've pissibly heard a difference between a 1ohm and a 4ohm config?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

It quite obvious you should hear a difference, just because of the difference in power.

Theoretically, the higher the ohm load, the less distortion. Though, as long as the total harmonic distortion (THD %) is less then 1% at the given impedance, it is neglible. Also, most people cannot hear the difference in sound quality until ~5% THD... and some even higher...
