ohio generator vs DC Power alternator

I need to order a H/o alt for a 2000 rms system. I can get a 200 amp for my 2004 chevy impala 3.4L V6 from ohio generator for $495 plus s/h, or a 230 amp from dc power inc for $349 plus s/h. Is one better than the other in your opinions. I ordered from excessive amperage before and it only puts out about 40 -50 amps at idle. It is supposed to be 200 amp. I don't want to get ripped again.

from what ive read, dc has been good do a search, as for being ripped on your other alt you probably mis read it and it probly put 200amps out at a certain rpm.?

Many HO alts put out LESS amperage at idle than your stock alt...

I have a couple customers that use the DC and like them.

Ohio has been in the game for many years. I have used them countless times.

I would say either of the two can get you what you want.

Ohio Gen has been slipping big time, in the past two years we've dropped them all together. Put out next to nothing at idle.

From what I've been reading, DC. I plan on buying a 250A 150A idle from them soon.

mechman and Dc are probably your top quality alts you can get.... i've finally decided that after talking to people at both companies about their alts, and what makes them better than the next

i go up there alot. Mlstrass stays in beach park. by yorktown and lewis i believe.

Ohio Gen doesn't seem to have the great reputation that they once had, at least from what I've heard from people saying.

Mechman makes a really great alt thats not just parts thrown together in stock cases.

But, iraggi alts off ebay has been working great for me. I can bassrace with a 3k 139.9 and let it idle.
