I remember looking at one of these with my dad he was looking at possibly buying it because it was close to home. It was a little too rough but I’ve wanted one ever since. He ended up buying a 62 corvette. He gave 6k kept for a long time more than tripled his money when he sold it. That’s how long ago that was.

If you’re worried about aerodynamics then you just don’t understand. But yeah you can add disk brakes. Google pro touring Camaro. Probably one of the most popular modernized car. Corvettes are popular for guys putting a modern corvette frame with the old body style. If you have trump $$$ you can do pretty much anything

The only people taking advantage of it are the people selling the stamps. That obviously does happen, but "more than it's helping" is completely false. What are the fraud rates for it? Also it was LBJ, not FDR. It is definitely fair to say FDR did a lot for the poor people in this country, he's the most progressive president in the history of the US by far. You may be thinking of social security.

LBJ added on to the social welfare system that FDR started, including initiating food stamps. Which is what I thought we were talking about, no?

We were talking about Food Stamps before you started talking bro lol.

"Government assistance", i.e. food stamps, welfare, WIC, started in 1935 and was backed by President Roosevelt, helps some people but is taken advantage of by more people than it is helping I think.

Government assistance started a little before FDR, more like the 1900's. "During the Progressive Era, some state governments began to assume more responsibility for helping the worthy poor. By 1926, forty states had established some type of public relief program for mothers with dependent children. A few states also provided cash assistance to needy elderly residents through old-age pensions. The programs and the size of the benefits varied widely among the states."

But it was through individual states. Then in 1932 the emergency relief and construction act of 1932 was the first federal push for poverty relief that wasn't bogged down by congress throughout the 20's. That was signed by Hubert Humphrey. You listed two things that were LBJ's doing and then also an FDR thing (welfare, which LBJ expanded on too).

A customer at my old workplace had a 1955 ford F-100 with a corvette engine in it. I asked him how he was able to get it so new looking when the salt around here is so bad and he said the way they do it is to buy an old F-100, take the VIN#, and then fabricate all new parts for it, so almost every piece on the car was less than 2 years old made by some CNC company in Indiana. I can't imagine how much money went into that project, but he's doing well for himself for sure. That thing idles lower RPM than an average Harley lol.

Seriously. Welfare contains all those things you keep referring to. I specifically spoke on WELFARE as a whole and the fact, which I gave you proof of, that Roosevelt started. My point was that these people bringing down statues, specifically Roosevelt statues, proves how ignorant they are. Meaning that person helped get the very thing going that they abuse and feel they are entitled to. But they don't care about that, their ignorant.

I am more... well embarrassed than anything at the amount or lack there of in these United States of common sense. People are so damn dumb. I see how stupid people are on a daily basis and it kills me inside. Honestly, THEY probably don't know why they don't like FDR... or 90% of the things they say they hate. All they know is how to follow the crowd. So sad.

Well... it was WAR time. Not that it is justified to force them into camps but it could be argued as being safer that way. It would have s ucked to be attacked from the outside and inside the US boarder.

Originally the plan was the extradite them, but then he pulled the plug on that idea early and they were rounded up into camps with no notice. That's not remotely up to American values. The reason he did it was direct pressure from racists as well, so not a good look. Imagine rounding up all of the muslim immigrants from Afghanistan after 911, that'd be insane.

I agree that it is not moral to do it... but there is no way to determine how a race will react either. The Japanese attacked us. It is conceivable that these Japanese Americans were holding on to a stronger Japanese... what's the word?? They lived in Americal but still lived as Japanese holding their values higher than that of the US... you follow?
