in game 7
probably gas, bu they lucky with the game 7 wins...

how would have boston done vs pitts?

i think det would have equal chances vs pits or boston

but think about this..

detroit vs columbus they said mason was one hell of a golie, det got past him

anaheim ... hiller... got past him

chicago knabby... got past him 2 games..

with those amazing golies shutting down everyone detroit got past them somehow. i think they can get past fleury now
I don't see how two game 7 wins against arguably the 2 best teams in the East heading into the playoffs is luck, especially given the number of 1 goal games in those series. That's hard work and determination.
As for Mason, great goaltender, but Columbus doesn't have a lot of depth, especially defensively. That whole series, Holmstrom was parked in front of Mason every shift and no one was moving him. Detroit's players were allowed to free-wheel with the puck and Detroit outshot Columbus substantially (35-27.5 in shots per game).

Khabibulin is not a great goaltender. Look at his stats in the playoffs and it's clear why Chicago made it as far as they did; their offense.

8-6 with a 2.93 GAA and 89.8% Save Percentage. Last place amongst starting goaltenders in Save Percentage and GAA that made it past the first round (17th and 16th of the 24 goaltenders who've played in the playoffs including first round exits and backups).

Anaheim/Hiller were tough; I'll give you that.

Well, Wings did what needed to be done today, they looked good out there, and if we can get Dats back I really do think the Wings will, win. It will be hard fought and won't be a 4 game series, but 6 or 7, but I think we will pull it out.

They looked good, but they were lucky to come away with the win. They got a couple goals on bad bounces (esp. Stuart's goal) and Crosby should've had a penalty shot when Zetterberg covered the puck with his hand in the crease during that scramble, plus Osgood looked shaky at best for the first 2 periods.

Detroit's puck possession was extremely impressive, though. Faceoffs, turnovers, and time in the offensive zone were all fantastic, but they didn't really generate a lot of solid offensive chances as they usually do.

Osgood.. shaky in the first 2 periods? In what game?? The game I watched today, he looked pretty solid especially when stopping the allmighty Malkin on a stone break away. (which, in rality, Malkin should have gotten a penalty for tripping Kronner to get that break away)

As for the bad bounces, its no secret in the league that Detroits boards are LIVE, and players practice using them in the morning skates. Fleury was caught sleeping when the puck went back there, and paid for it.

The game where he was bobbling the puck all over the place and never seemed to know where it was which resulted in Pittsburgh's only goal ...

you mean when he actually gave up a rebound? WOW it does happen from time to time. You said it.. Pitts ONLY goal. Not bad for a "shaky" performance.

I think Ozzy's doin just fine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif...if he's 'shaky'...then I'd like to see how amazing a 'terrible' goalie must be //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Any bets on how the game is going to be called tonight?? Ill bet if the Penguins get behind, they get a 5 on 3 form the refs.... Tight game called on theWings and a loose game on Sindy and friends.

And they'll still be in the offensive zone, getting shots on goal //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
