**Official NCAA 09 Football Thread**

to allow a team like Arkansas 20 points is a joke.
Ok? Arkansas has the highest rated offense in the SEC (8th in the NCAA). They average just under 40 points a game. Going into today's game Mallet was the highest rated QB in the SEC (3rd in the NCAA). Expect those number to go up since he threw 5 TDs today.

What do you think a high caliber offense like Texas is going to do?
Probably not much better than Arkansas did since, statistically speaking, they out rank Texas in every category. As much as I hate to say it, Florida is good. To think Texas will run them over is absurd. They still have Tebow, and an outstanding defense who's defensive coordinator is Charlie Strong, who is a very good game caller. I mean come on Florida has the #1 rated defense in the NCAA. They only allow on average 10 points a game. They have a better defense this year than they did last year and Oklahoma had a better offense last year than Texas does this year. So, I think Florida would beat Texas in the same fashion they beat Oklahoma.

In other news expect Lane Kiffin to get some kind of punishment for making this statement after the game. "Great call on the pass interference. That was definitely pass interference. Commissioner Slive, I appreciate that call." Which was referring to a PI call in the endzone on Tennessee where the defender didn't make contact whatsoever.

There were a BUNCH of weird calls made. Rico McCoy got flagged for a PI call yet he was 3 yards behind the guy. Scott got a personal foul call for blocking a guy in a pile but yet the whistle hadn't even blown yet. Berry got one also in pretty much the same fashion, just trying to push the pile and the whistle wasn't even blown. Get this one, I don't remember who it was on but one guy got a personal foul on roughing the center//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif WTF is that? It was on a punt, the replay showed the center snap the ball start blocking like normal and the defender shoved him like normal which didn't even knock him back at all then both immediately turned around to go down field. Roughing the center is a new one on me.

You basically confirmed my point though. Arkansas may have a great offense, but to have the #1 ranked defense let them put up 20 points is exactly my point. They only let other teams put up 10 or less but then Arkansas comes in and puts up 20? What do you think an offense like Bama is going to do?

Let's see how they handle FSU and then Ingram and Bama first, then we'll argue semantics about Texas.

I still don't get your point. They held a great offense to half of what their point total usually is. Holding Arkansas to 20 is a good game for any team considering they have scored 40+ points seven times and 50+ three times. If anything you should be bashing their less than stellar offense, not the defense. It was the offense that kept that game close with something like 4 fumbles and missed FGs, it was also the offense who needed the help from the refs.

I don't think FSU will be much of a test. Alabama on the other hand will be a tough game. I guarantee you it won't be a blowout. Oh yeah, Alabama has the #2 rated defense in the NCAA. I guess since they allowed 20 points to the mighty Kentucky that Florida will have a field day.

Lol.

longhorns had a tough one last night but pulled it off... ready for that dec.5th rematch...I know alabama will be ready... tired of hearing about tebow and urban meyer talking about how much he loves him....

Who knew such great football could come from a NAMBLA relationship? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I'm wondering how the bowls games turn out if Nebraska upsets Texas (which I think is going to happen), Clemson upsets Georgia Tech, Pitt upsets Cinci, and Oregon St. upsets Oregon. That would be interesting.

More importantly, to me anyway: Is it gonna FL or AL?
