Sucks to hear about Avery, as I liked the guy, but he will do wonders for many teams. I am just glad he is out of dallas.

but it takes a coach to get his team up in the playoffs bc that bar is raised by every team..... Mavs year after year have yet to do this. And I do think Avery is a good coach, just lacks experience(shown by the Kidd trade) and will make a good coach for another team

yea SA has the best chnce of any to win the title, but why do it as an assistant coach?

working under Pop is not step down, it is a resume enhancer, ask Mike Brown, Pj Carlisimo, Danny Ferry, and Steve Kerr among others about the benefits of learning under Popovich. working under Pop along with his already powerful defensive game would only strengthen his skills. Work under Pop for a few years and move on or become our coach after Timmy and Pop retire. He already has multiple homes here, family, and side business...why not?

Dwight Howard averaged 17 and 10 against Detroit, lower then his season averages and lower then most of the rest of the league. He also had a 47% field goal percentage against Detroit which is his lowest against any team outside of Portland. Rasheed is one of the most skilled big men in the game. If he ever got into the game and focused, he could've been a 20-10 player. He can work in the post against anyone. he has a lot of length and a high release that he shoot over the top of any defender. He is very good on the ball defender and can also shot block. He also is on the wrong side of 30. He is also a very good shooter for his size.

I think Sheed is going to be the wrong player to match up on Dwight bc he is just too strong

Just because you have technical fouls doesn't make you a head case. Rasheed left Portland and they still had major problems. It was Randolph, Bonzi Wells, Stoudamire. Since coming to Detroit he has been good.

you watch basketball? they had a fall out against SA, Miami, Cleveland and are having issues with philly....

they always melt down LOL iirc rasheed melted down a couple times during those loses. Rasheed also isnt an all star type player imo. he takes games off and depending what mood he is in isnt very professional LOL. He is no Garnett, Duncan, Shaq, Barkley, Robinson type at all and if you want to get technical he more closely ressembles D Coleman except he won a championship.

LOL Rasheed took the team from a pretty good team to a championship team. You don't know what the hell you are talking about. Rasheed is an underachiever. There is no denying that. He just fades to the three point line a lot. When he posts up he is one of the best with his back to the basket. The key word is when.

RaSheed is over hyped IMO. Guy is nothing but a trash talking ***. He does have one of the better jump shots for a big guy, but that is because it is so hard to defend with they style of how he shoots. I will give him that. Other than that, he is nothing special. He gets out powered a lot anymore. Back in his hayday he didn't so much, but he is not the same sheed as he was in Portland.

so he is an under acheiving awesome player who led the pistons to a championship? he led them in scoring in 1 game and rebounding in 2 (tied ben both times) with his best being a 26 point 13 rebound game. good numbers but far from dominating...espeacially since he had an old Karl Malone on him where Rasheed had the advantage of pulling him away from the basket....the advantage the pistons had was the guards and and active ben wallace

plus the emergence of Tayshuan Prince kind of helped...he seemed to blossom at the right time...not to mention Rips jumper became money around that time...
