He cleared it up--it's 30% off ebay pricing for the same alternator. Does anyone know what is the difference between his and one like this that ebays for $145:

Yeah Doms alts are hand built and much better quality.

I'm sure you're right but can you be a little more clear as to why? For example what difference does it make it they are hand built or not? And aren't all high output alternators hand built? If not doesn't hand built introduce human error making them less reliable?

What precisely do you mean when you say they are much better quality? What is much better quality? Does he use better internal parts or what? And is that better quality worth 3x the cost retail or 2.5 times the cost with the 30% discount???
