*$ OFFICIAL $* If you owned a local audio shop....

Can I throw a wrench in the gears of your dream real quick ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif With some manufacturers and sellers. It doesn't really matter if you want to carry thier products or not . THEY choose which shops will carry thier products //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Ding Ding Ding! ramos is the winner.

But since this is a dream, continue on. You need to carry things people have heard of, not just non-mainstream companies as well.

Heres my list.

Audiobahn (bling factor)

Memphis (non internet distributors and their subs are loud with less sq)

JL audio (people think they are good and good sq subs)

Pioneer (Decks)

Jensen (decks and cheap indash)

digital designs

Memphis ftw. They have a wide variety of stuff, from their Street Edge line that puts out a lot of sound for under $50 a piece here at the shop I work at, to the M-Class with its mighty sq abilities, to the M3 MOJO with its legendary spl capabilities.

PyleLegacy

Dual

American Pro

Pyramid

alot of its mainstream but from a business stand point i think thats what the average joe is looking for and will spend, not everyone is like us audio nuts here on the forum

X2 If I were in it for the money, That is what I would carry. Stupid people will spend money on anything. Just tell 'em it "Goes BOOM like so"
One of my mom's co-workers bought a Perfomance Teknique Amp with 2 MA Audio Subs for 850 bucks....... he got *****......! he said he'd sell the set for 400 bucks and take the loss. . . i didnt have the heart to tell him he got robbed.... he did try to sell em to me though, lol.

None of you have any idea about the start-up costs for this... Those of you listing six or so mainstream companies, who carry a broad array of inventory (from low-level $50 subs to $500 SPL or SQ subs), realize that each of these companies have VERY high startup costs, to the tune of $50k or so per company. Goodluck affording that.

Your basic gameplan is a small handful of suppliers. Your main, big name supplier will attract customers, and will be the bulk of your sales as well as costs. They should carry full line of products, from subs, to amps, to speakers, and possibly even headunits. If you can't get a deal with a big-name supplier who manufacturers headunits (JL, RF, Kicker), you'll want to look into another somewhat big-name supplier for headunits.

Have a mid-level supply of of everything, from one or two smaller companies. Subs, amps, speakers, headunits. This will be the variety your store offers.

Finally, have your low-level budget "Walmart" line, for the 16 year old who wants noise instead of music.

Now, don't forget prefab enclosures and wiring. One company should suffice for both of these.

If you desire such for your company, you'll need a company that does alarms/remote starts/Neon lights/etc. One, maybe two companies will suffice for this.

Don't forget about a contract with a supplier for installation accessories.

My shop carried pioneer , pioneer premier , Orion, Rockford Fosgate, Kicker, Clarion, Denon, Alpine, and lanzar . I miss the shop //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

ouch he got ***** big time, in a few posts above!

My cousin for his third car (66? mustang) Get this has:

An Aiwa HU, 2 Cheap MA Audio subs, Pyramid Amp, and 4x10 American Pro speakers, i think he paid 200-300 bucks for everything installed and a custom trunk and box wrapped in vinyl

hes been out of audio for awhile , used to be really intense back in the day, early 90s actually, i think he used to have Oz Audio products or RF i dont remember, but i dont think he realizes how shitty some of his equip is, i think most of the equip he got for free and dirt cheap, it was the vinyl and box that cost the $$ haha

how do them 5 dollar tweetrs sound?
very loud and harsh very tinny(spelling or even a word)IMO. i have bought those on E-bay. they are like 20 packs of tweets for 15-20dollars. Wehn i do peoples install ill throw them in for a litttle extra.
