***Official 2009-10 NFL THREAD***

I really don't understand why the lions decided to give stafford such a huge contract ......They already have culpepper who I think still has potential, and what is an offense going to do with such a shitty defense? I see stafford being another bust. Why didn't they just pick up curry or smith and wait until next year when the QB selection will be much more impressive (tebow, McCoy, bradford, etc...).....just seems like a really stupid move to give this kid all that money

fuk, I would rather have Cutler back at this point in place of Knowshon, Ayers, and Kyle fawking Orton. McDaniels = supa fial
I think they got two very solid picks. Ayers hasn't grown into the player he will be. Knowshon is a guy who can carry the ball the whole game and Denver is well known for picking up stud TBs in the draft..

The problem is we usually take them in the 6th round or later and have good success. Ayers reminds me of Jarvin Moss and Tim Crowder that we took 2 years ago. He may be a bust waiting to happen as he didn't prove anything yet.

The chargers linebackers are looking pretty stacked...I forgot we also need a Tackled and DE (replacement for Olshansky). Jamal Williams is a stud but he's getting pretty old.

I don't think Ayers will be a bust, in fact I think he'll make an impact right away. I can remember countless times that he was the last guy to beat for a big run on the edge and he stuffs it, that's not even his strong point. He also had a INT against this years #1 pick.

Well I hope you're right and I'll defer to you as the TN resident. I'm just nervous with him only being a 1 year starter.

Don't let that fool you, he had alot of playtime in his career. Seniority played a big part in his starts. They play alot of lineman at UT. He was pretty much the #1 guy in 07 considering the time he was on the field. He stays healthy and gets after the QB, one of the better first day picks IMO, although I am biased being a Vol fan. He's one of those players that's gets better every outing. It should tell you alot that he wasn't even considered to be a 1st day pick until the combine.

I'm pretty happy with the Dolphin's pick. We needed a physical CB and now we got one. I wonder how we're going to fulfill our WR needs
A trade for Boldin would be a good fit for the Dolphins. He's the perfect fit for Chad's "weak" arm in that he runs good short routes and get's YAC. He'll go across the middle, which is something Ginn would never do.
