***Offical 08/09 NBA thread!***

So I guess it is safe to say that you don't think Stuckey will turn into a good point guard? Because that is what you said when Billups left as I defended Billups and told you that you guys wouldn't be the same without him.....of course you would forget that.
Also Gordans #'s were one of his better seasons last year to where it was one of Hamiltons worst, probably due to him so quitting on his team. Hell I would be mad too if I got rid of one of the better point guards in the league, lol! Of course it is always about getting younger and moola..........and Chauncey did horrible in Denver, lawl! He looked like he was declining.....
Where the hell did you get anything about Stuckey from that post? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

He was a solid enough defender i felt. And he is 6 foot 7 right? And he did know how to get open. Any way you look at it, Gordon is undersized and even more of a defensive liability. You right, I think he took the Billups trade too hard. But wasn't it him that re-signed on the premise that they were keeping Chauncey?
He knows how to get open but he needs a good PG to get him the ball in rhythm to be effective. Gordon can atleast create a little off the dribble. Hamilton was just bad when he tried to create his own shot. Hamilton signed the extension days before Billups traded. I didn't expect him to pout the entire season. It's still not set in stone that Hamilton will be traded. Does Denver have a center Detroit can use? At least he'll be back with his buddy.

Jesus, does your mom still hold your hand when you go to the restroom too?

Back when we were talking about the Billups thing I was saying how it was a bad decision and all and you said Stuckey was the future PG and would turn into a good one and then you say Hamilton needs a good PG to do well...........in hindsight it made it sound like you didn't think Stuckey was good enough for Hamilton to do well.

I know you are mostly retarded, but try a little bit.

Stuckey is a combo guard and is a scoring PG. He's better at going to the hoop and breaking down the defense. Billups is a true PG and sets the offense and allows Hamilton to come off his screens and hit him in rhythm for an open jumper. Stuckey and Hamilton don't mesh. Stuckey is still the furture PG. They just need players to better compliment him.

So Gordan is the answer? Please.........

Rose is a much better PG than Stuckey........Gordan won't put those numbers up in Detriot, period.....

He's better than Hinrich and Gordon put up better numbers in 07 coming off the bench. It also depends on what they do with Hamilton. If Hamilton is gone, I see no reason why he isn't near 20 PPG.

We will see, I just don't see him doing as well in Detriot.

Also what would be the huge difference in picking up Gordan, Villanueva just to get rid of one of the better post up/big man shooters in Wallace and an overall decent player in Hamilton? Younger I am sure, but not by a lot and to me they are not the same caliber type players.

Wallace decided he was done posting up. He also decided he wasn't going to bother with team huddles during the game. I think Rasheed just wore out his welcome. He had a good run and it was time to move. Vilanueva at this point, is better offensively and is a good inside/outside threat, but he is horrible on defense compared to Rasheed. Gordon is a better creator and 3 point shooter than Hamilton. It still isn't a forgone conclusion Hamilton is going anywhere.

How are they not younger by a lot when CV is 10 years younger than Rasheed? I'm hoping they move CV to SF and use him as a Rashard Lewis type player.

I thought Rasheed was a good team player, lol! Remember how I told you he wasn't a good team player and you said he was............well, I told you so.

Villanueva is better down low now as he is younger, but he is no where near the same when it comes to shooting it long range compared to Rasheed......or Lewis. I don't think he ever would be either. Not the same type of player.

It depends on who the coach was. Curry obviously wasn't wearing the pants in the Pistons family. Hamilton wasn't speaking to Curry either. CV wasn't much behind Rasheed in 3pt shooting. 345 to 354. Then again, Rasheed would shoot from all over the court so he took a lot of bad shots.

Yeah, but didn't Rasheed take a shit ton more shots? He is one of the better big men from beyond the 3pt line. Hell you have even said that yourself before.

Umm yes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

The problem is, Rasheed never wanted to be physical. He would never fight for position in the post, even though he had the length and strength. When he did post up, which wasn't very often and in the high post at that, he wouldn't back down his defender and just shoot a turn around fade away. He has such good size, strength, and length. he also has a high release and nobody can simply block his shot. If he were to have used his talents to post up and use his outside shooting as an equalizer, he could've been the 3rd best big man in this era behind Shaq and Duncan. He also never wanted to engage in contact and block out and fight for rebounds or even try for an offensive board. He could've easily been a 20-10 guy. He was also a pretty good defender without using much effort. The fact is, he's 35 now and isn't going to change. He is who he is. A 7 foot PF with a boatload of skills who is content to wait at the 3 point line and fire whenever the ball comes his way.
