***Offical 08/09 NBA thread!***

i just think hes a good player i should of put why i said his name. he moves the ball well he has a good shot and he can take it to the basket. he does turn it over but who does not do that now a days.
That is what I figured. He is a very good player and usually your playmakers will turn the ball over more so than others.

Hell Bron turned it over like 8 times himself against Washington.

Huh?
They are having Jackson at the point, or they did. Once Monta comes back, he will be their point guard and move Jackson back to small forward and have Crawford at two guard and Bierdrinis at C and Wright at Power forward and once Maggette comes back, then him off the bench with Bellinelli, Watson, Morrow. Very good line up, only down fall is they are very young besides Jackson and a small line up.

I do know they were using Crawford at the point while Jackson was out, but he is back and they like him there till Monta gets back.
meaning Crawford blows and he's a curse...he's good for points here and there and maybe a few assists once in awhile, but he cant do anything else...

the only good teams in the NBA are the Lakers, Celtics and Cavaliers. Everyone else can shut the hell up.
you're a genius, and you understand basketball so well. you'd be stupid to not sell everything you own, and strike it rich in vegas with your deep insight.

Umm, dumbass, I never mentioned anything about Iverson being a point guard. He was more so over in Denver/philly, but he split time over there and played a lot of two guard in those places too when subing in and out.
Um, Detroit traded their starting PG and brought in Iverson to play the point so how is this not about PG?

I know they are big on Stuckey and has been the point guard like the last 8 games or something like that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
And he did just fine for playing along side another superstar player in Melo. I didn't think it would work out, but he had awesome numbers there and were a lot of fun to watch, granted Billups has looked just as good.
When Iverson was first traded to Denver, Carmelo was suspended for 15 games. Denver was 31-27 with Iverson, then 50-32 with him the following season. In his first 22 games with Denver, they were 10-12

Dude, he does look unhappy, if you can't see that, it is because your a homer, but don't surprise me, because you are that through and through.
So you watch the Pistons now? are they one of your 20 teams you root for? I guess I can't see because I take Iverson's cheering, smiling, laughing on the bench while Stuckey goes off for 40 points as being relatively happy.

And if you don't think he will get another big contract, then you don't know what the hell you are talking about. He is still an awesome guard and many teams could use him, but his numbers are way down right now, because he is playing with a chip on his shoulder. He just isnt happy. Samething happen in Philly were his numbers were going down some and he wasn't winning and he got tired of it. His tude affects his playing big time.
His numbers the last 2.5 seasons in Philadelphia were 30.7, 33.0, and 26.3 in 15 games. 33.0 was a career high for him. So where again was this downward trend in Philadelphia? His FG% in 06 (last full season in Philadelphia) was at the time second highest in his career, he also had one of his best turnover to assist ratios, so I repeat, where is this downward trend in Philadelphia?

He probably thought he could win in D, but there chemistry has sucked since he got there.
I still laugh at how Billups made a smooth transition, yet Iverson can't, lol!
Billups is a natural PG. He fits seamlessly into the offense. I don't expect you to understand that however.

I'll be laughing when Stuckey makes the transition into starting PG and everyone forgets about Billups. I'll also laugh when Detroit uses the cap space to get another player.

LOL, i'm pretty sure im the best basketball player on this forum. Seriously, my life is basketball. The nba is just terrible now days. Although i do watch a few teams.

noone is going to forget about billups. denver will make it to the western conference finals, and possibly lose to the lakers. i have no delusions that denver is a championship team yet, but they are far better with billups than they ever were with iverson, and i loved allen iverson. denver will be a tough team in the west, thanks to some leadership. if there was ever a knock on iverson, it's his game management, not his actual play. the guy is a gifted player, and he plays as hard as anyone else in the league. when he came to denver, the talk was about how he was a selfish player. BS. he played with passion, and at times tried too hard. george carl also stated that he practiced as hard as anyone, which was another BS knock on iverson that was proven wrong. denver loved allen iverson, but i'm glad we got billups. carmelo needs a smart, vocal leader on the floor. ball hogging and 1 man dribbling is becoming a thing of the past here in denver. denver will be dangerous down the stretch.

You must not have watched the Eastern Conference playoffs the past couple season. I wouldn't start counting my chickens before they hatch. Billups will struggle with the likes of Paul, Williams, Parker. He struggled against Rondo and a grown man named boobie. He disappeared each of the last 3 ECF's. Now Denver is a much different situation and Carmelo will be asked to take over down the stretch unlike in Detroit where it was Billups. Detroit is also a different situation for Iverson. They do not have a Carmelo type player. Their players are role players and can play along side a guy who is a volume shooter. IMO Iverson is trying to hard to fit in. He is a scorer and needs to score. he is trying to hard to shake off the selfish stigma and forces passes and doesn't try to take over himself.

The Celtics are human! Losing 2 straight in a row, this probably makes bigbangtheory's Cavs and all the other Eastern Conference teams happy. Lets make this a habit.

The whole point the Pistons made the transaction with the Nuggets was to put Stuckey, who was raising to become a star, as PG and move Iverson to SG. I'm suprised you don't know this as you come here to say you are a true Piston fan. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Nope. then why did Iverson start at PG and Stuckey come off the bench? the point of moving Billups was because he had 2 more years left on his contract and would block Stuckey from becoming the starting PG next year. Iverson was suppose to be a stop gap at PG. Now they have transitioned into running out a smaller lineup.

Um, Detroit traded their starting PG and brought in Iverson to play the point so how is this not about PG?
Dumbass, you told me awhile ago that Stuckey would be the future PG. Is obvious they are going smaller, like Phoenix and the likes and Iverson is as much a two guard as he is a point guard, you of all people should know that.

When Iverson was first traded to Denver, Carmelo was suspended for 15 games. Denver was 31-27 with Iverson, then 50-32 with him the following season. In his first 22 games with Denver, they were 10-12
So, Carmello was suspensed. Iverson still came in and put up good numbers and didn't try and do something he is not. He is a scorer and should remain that, which he is not doing in Detriot. He is not Kobe or LeBron in that aspect.

So you watch the Pistons now? are they one of your 20 teams you root for? I guess I can't see because I take Iverson's cheering, smiling, laughing on the bench while Stuckey goes off for 40 points as being relatively happy.

Hate the Pistons and always will. Also what is funny, you sit there and talk smack about me liking more than 1 team, yet you collect Jerseys of all kinds of teams. You are something else.

Also I thought his numbers were going down. I guess I should have checked that first as I was going on memory. I know he was just unhappy at Philly though, more of the point I was trying to make.

I am sure you just knew all those numbers without looking it up, right?........

Duh, Billups is more a natural PG, takes a rocket scientist to figure that one out, good one captian obvious! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

And I have already mentioned how Stuckey has been playing in the starting line up as the starting PG and Iverson is at the two guard, did you miss that post retard? I don't think they will be missing Billups till they start to win, which they will win, but not the winning your used to. So will take time.

So you will have cap space, so what! You are struggling with Iverson, Hamilton, Prince, Stuckey and McDyess right now, which is a heck of a line up, just that their going the wrong way of going small and fast. Works in the west more so, not in the East. Look at NY, samething, just not quite the talent you guys have.
