But I doubt your 04 team lost 3 in a row to teams that aren't even playoff contenders, one of them being the worst in the East. To be honest, I think once the Pistons get their head straight and work out a nice starting lineup, they have the potential to compete with the rest. But as of now, they are still mediocre in my opinion. But that is just the opinion of one man, nothing more.Just an //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif Detroit was 15-11 after 26 games in 2004
Nope they just had a 6 game losing streak that included 3 losses to teams with below 500 recordsBut I doubt your 04 team lost 3 in a row to teams that aren't even playoff contenders, one of them being the worst in the East. Well I think it will come down to the best records thus far in each conference. I don't care what Ice says about record and when Detriot won 54 games when won it all. They are not the same Detriot team and their chemistry don't look to be the same.Agreed, in my honest opinion , I still don't think the Lakers can beat the Celtics in a 7 game series, YET. We have shown spurts that we are a great team, but we have not made it a constant habit yet. There are streaks where we are unstoppable and blowing out teams in the first half, and then streaks where we are just mediocre. We need to continue working on our defense. What impressed me the most during yesterday's game was 9 blocks by the Lakers and only 3 by the Celtics. It was an important win for us yesterday, but it is still just one game and the Celts are still the best team in the NBA. It was a measuring stick to see if we can compete with the East Elites and we definately can.
I still believe Detriot is a mediocre team due to the fact that they are just a .500 team after aquiring AI. Seems to me the Nuggets are getting a much better deal out of the trade. Losing 3 in a row to the Knicks, Sixers, and the Wiz doesn't help either. They need to change up their lineup or work on another trade if they wanna compete with the Celtics, Cavs, or Magics.
Blah, Blah, Blah!Detroit has only played 26 games. Incorporating a player like Iverson into your lineup doesn't happen overnight. On the surface it looks like Denver won, but there is so much more to this trade then you people just don't seem fit to comprehend for whatever reasons.
-Stuckey is the future. Billups blocked his growth. The Pistons are getting old and need to develop young talent. Stuckey can give them everything Billups did and then some
-Salary cap. Pistons will be players in the 2010 draft. This freed up a huge amount of cap space.
-The Pistons still haven't figured out how to work Iverson into the offense. It will take time, but this team could be built for the playoffs. Remember Detroit only had 54 wins each time they made the finals. In 2006 they won 64 and lost in the ECF. Win/loss record isn't everything.
-furthermore, Detroit has beaten Cleveland, Los Angeles, and San Antonio in convincing fashion. Outside of Boston, they have proven they can hang with the best.
-Billups would not make a difference. This team would still be underdogs to Boston, Cleveland and even Orlando. They proved the last 2 years that the status quo was going to beat Cleveland or Boston.
Given what I know now, I'd still pull off the trade in a heartbeat.
Iverson is a completely different player then Billups so you can't just slide him into the starting PG and expect the team to run like Billups is still there. The offense takes on a totally different dynamic with Iverson. Iverson is a an attacker and pushes the ball whereas Billups takes the ball up court, and sets the offense. Iverson is a more volume shooter then Billups. Iverson is also not a true PG and since they have moved Stuckey into the starting PG, they have been doing better with Iverson at the SG. He also didn't transition well in Denver. Denver is a whole other ball of wax since they have Carmelo. When you trade the facilitator and most important player on your team for the polar opposite type player, there will be a learning curve. i know this was a lot for you to handle and I don't expect you to comprehend all of it.Well I think it will come down to the best records thus far in each conference. Will come down to the Lakers or Spurs out of the West, although would like to see NO out of there against either the Cavs, Celts or maybe Magic.
Blah, Blah, Blah!
I guess Billups is the only person to go right in and make an impact on a trade?
Iverson takes time? Why, he has a ton of expierence and been traded before and made the transition fine with another Superstar on the team. You are just looking for excuses as to why they have ****** ass since he came over. Personally I don't think he wants to be there, probably because he knows he is nothing but a stepping stone to gain other picks. He looks like he is playing with a shitty attitude. He just don't look happy in D.
Umm, dumbass, I never mentioned anything about Iverson being a point guard. He was more so over in Denver/philly, but he split time over there and played a lot of two guard in those places too when subing in and out.Iverson is a completely different player then Billups so you can't just slide him into the starting PG and expect the team to run like Billups is still there. Dude, he does look unhappy, if you can't see that, it is because your a homer, but don't surprise me, because you are that through and through. Also your point about Iverson slacking because he is unhappy is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. He is in the final year of his contract. he is 32 and this is his last chance at a big contract. People are questioning what he has left. I cannot fathom him not giving 100% in a contract year. Iverson is not Rasheed. He has always given his best effort at game time.
well, it's not like players in the past 50 years didnt turn the ball over...Jose Calderon, Derek Fisher, Anthony Johnson are some examples of players that turn it over the least, Nash, Deron Williams, Stephen Jackson and Wade are all 3 tied for first place with 3.8 turnovers a game...i just think hes a good player i should of put why i said his name. he moves the ball well he has a good shot and he can take it to the basket. he does turn it over but who does not do that now a days.
Huh?well I dot know if I would say all of that, they do still have Jamal Crawford on their team...
That is what I figured. He is a very good player and usually your playmakers will turn the ball over more so than others.i just think hes a good player i should of put why i said his name. he moves the ball well he has a good shot and he can take it to the basket. he does turn it over but who does not do that now a days.
meaning Crawford blows and he's a curse...he's good for points here and there and maybe a few assists once in awhile, but he cant do anything else...Huh?
They are having Jackson at the point, or they did. Once Monta comes back, he will be their point guard and move Jackson back to small forward and have Crawford at two guard and Bierdrinis at C and Wright at Power forward and once Maggette comes back, then him off the bench with Bellinelli, Watson, Morrow. Very good line up, only down fall is they are very young besides Jackson and a small line up.
I do know they were using Crawford at the point while Jackson was out, but he is back and they like him there till Monta gets back.
go away brothe only good teams in the NBA are the Lakers, Celtics and Cavaliers. Everyone else can shut the hell up.
