***Offical 08/09 NBA thread!***

i didnt even once mention your name in my post buddy

where do you get the idea that I'm calling you a bandwagoner

reason i point that out is cause it seems most people hop onto sports teams scrotums as soon as they start doing something

i.e. lsu, boston celtics, red sox, etc

oh and quest...congratulations on being a a fan of quite possibly the most boring basketball franchises to watch in NBA history

that is all

Dwight Howard misses his first game in 5 seasons //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif and the Magic still beat the Jazz in Utah...very surprising...No Howard and no Pietrus, gotta love that win...ATL beating Cleveland was a shock as well...even though ATL has been much stronger this season, or so it would seem...

thank you for joining the bandwagon of haters. you are in a line of many which usually wind up losing to us in the playoffs.

i was also shocked on the cleavlane game. ecspecially how well they have been playing. atl is decent this year. they will be better if j-smoove steps up his game a little more, but coming off his injury it will take a couple more games.

i was suprised also by d-howard missing his game. if i were him, i would have started played a minute and then came out for the game. just to keep his streak going...he is a very strong player, and will be back soon

Figured it was directed to me since it was right after I posted and I do like the Suns and Warriors, but the Cavs not the Pistons.

So thought it was another shot you were taking at me like you always did in the College thread.

Also I agree the Spurs are borrrrrrring..............yet they get the job done. Sucks, because I do hate them, but they always are there in the end or winning it all. I don't think they will take it this year, but they are playing better and winning again, and healthy, which is no good for the rest of the West.

Also to those surprised at the Atlanta game, I am not..........at all. Remember they are much better and have talent out the whazooo! And also remember this is the same team that took Boston to 7 games last year in the playoffs. Sucks the Cavs lost, because we tied a franchise record 11 games in a row and needed 1 more to go down in the history books. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Oh well, they may do it again this year, but their schedule does get harder.

Lamar doesn't deserve anything. If he played up to his potential he'd be a perennial all-star, but for some mental reason he rarely shows up.
That's not true. There's nothing wrong about being a facilitator. He's an unselfish player. The only thing that hurts his game is that he can be too unselfish sometimes.

He's averaging 2.2 apg. When the second unit is shooting as poorly as they do, he needs to take it upon himself to go to the basket.

Sixth man award - Lamar OdomMost improved award - Trevor Ariza

I love Ariza to death and I am really happy his suspect foot is healthy right now, I really hated losing him last season and wish him success in LA, but he's no where near MIP right now, even with his vast improvement. And Lamar Odom is no where near 6th man either...

as of right now, 1/4 of the way in

Most Improved: Devin Harris (and it isnt even close)

6th Man: Jason Terry (Manu playing again, so he will be right up there)

and while we're at it

Coach of the Year: Lawrence Frank

Rookie of the Year: Derrick Rose

Defensive Player of the Year: Dwight Howard

Most Valuable Player: LeBron James

Yeah i might have to agree with you on the Most improved player as Devin Harris.

But 6th man, I'm still sticking with Lamar Odom. He started his first game today due to Gasol being sick and played awesome. Scored 18 points with i believe 12 rebounds.

Coach of the Year: Mike Brown

Rookie: Derrick Rose, OJ Mayo might take it though

Defensive: KG

MVP: King James unless KB24 plays how he played yesterday everytime.
