***Offical 08/09 NBA thread!***

Yeah i might have to agree with you on the Most improved player as Devin Harris. But 6th man, I'm still sticking with Lamar Odom. He started his first game today due to Gasol being sick and played awesome. Scored 18 points with i believe 12 rebounds.

Coach of the Year: Mike Brown

Rookie: Derrick Rose, OJ Mayo might take it though

Defensive: KG

MVP: King James unless KB24 plays how he played yesterday everytime.
COY: Mike Brown has done a fine job, but he also has a much better team to work with and oh yea, LBJ, not to mention they have had a pretty watered down schedule thus far, they have done what was expected of them IMO, maybe not an 11 game streak, but still...Frank has whipped the Nets into a playoff team again, and really done it with a no names front court and in development bench. Sloan should also be in the running, winning games missing half or your roster, including both stars early on was impressive and developing unknown talent is his specialty, I also like D'Antoni for this award if NY can continue to play as they have and start chalking up more W's...

6th Man: 8/6/2 from Odom aint even touching Terry's 20ppg/4apg off the bench, you forget who dishes these awards out...

ROY: will be a full season run, right now Rose is just the more fluid player, Mayo is the better scorer obviously, but Bulls have more wins and Rose is doing a lot on the court. You're right, could go either way...

DPOY: Dwight Howard's hands down undeniable right now, KG is on the list, but it's behind Howard, Dwight 4.1 blocks per game and 15 rebounds, that is pure insanity right there...

Yeah D'Antoni is also on my list of coach of the year. Sloan has proved over and over again that he is a great coach so I dont see him winning it again.

For 6th man, I wouldnt be suprised if Nate Robinson takes it either, that kid is incredible for his size. He's a warrior.

Rose is by far my favorite rookie but wow, he played a horrible game yesterday and scored only 6 points. And lost to the Bobcats in OT in a game they were up by 12!

As the Defensive player of the year, KG is the best defensive player on the best denfensive team although Dwight Howard is a monster. It can go both ways.

I think Mike Brown should be considered for coach of the year, with out a doubt. We may have a watered down schedule so far, but to win 11 games and the spread amount of points they were putting up is very impressive. Injuries are taking their tool on us now, but we have a good shot at winning 60 games this year, which should win the conference and end up with one of the better records in the league.

For Rookie of the year, Rose or Mayo. Kinda a toss up if you ask me. Seems Rose does more for his club though, so probably will end up with it.

Defensive player- I think Howard has to be up there for sure, but people have a hard on for KG.

MVP-LBJ or Dwight Howard, both do so much for their club, but I think LBJ does more with the overall game. It will be close though.

6th man-Odom? Come on, your just being biased because he is on your team. If Odom is up there, then I put up Anderson Varejao from Cleveland. Having just as good a year if not better. Honestly though, either Terry or Manu as there is quite a bit of the season left. Terry if it ended now.

I highly doubt the Cavs will win their conference considering the Celtics are playing incredible ball this year. I doubt they will win over 60 games as well, I would say around 56 or so. They are a great team this year nonetheless. Im watching the Celtics/Hawks game right now and I hope the Hawks take it. They are up by 5 atm. Spurs/Hornets game is gonna be next, cant wait for that game either.

The season is only roughly 25 games long and we are handing out awards already?
who handed out awards? even if they were handed out, what does it matter? all sports media outlets begin their early season awards watches around this time...

So you are off 4 games of what I think they can do. Is silly to even debate about that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Also ment to say Divison, not conference. Celts will more than likely take that.

I am pulling for the Hawks as well. They really are a good team. Very underrated!

So what, it is just what if's. Nothing wrong with talking about it. Your just pissed because the Pistons are doing nothing so far. If they were, you would be all in this conversation.

X2!
