***Offical 08/09 NBA thread!***

Meh, Cleveland is like 13-0 against below 500 teams, and 4-3 against above 500 teams. Their best wins are against Dallas and Atlanta. Their record will level off.

man, Dwight Howard on his 23rd birthday 23 points/22 rebounds/6 blocks/4 assists/2 steals on 60% field goal shooting...man...and he was horse collard to the floor by fat *** Zach Randolph...

Yes, but this is a different team this year. We can compete with the good teams. We should have won against Boston, but our nerves got to us as it was so early and made bad decisions. I feel we could beat Boston at their home next time. We did well against them last year with a shittier team.

Also hows that trade working out for ya? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

We'll see how the trade works out in the 09 or 10 offseason. Maybe your little bron bron will be wearing a Pistons uniform.

Shit is two years away. That is for another time. If it does happen and you know as well as I do that Cleveland has a lot of money to persuad him to staying, then it will either be NY or NJ.

He goes to Detriot, someone will murder kill his ***.

Either way the Pistons set themselves up for the future with this trade. I don't expect you to think critically, but I'll try to spell it out for you. The Pistons window of opportunity is closing. Billups, McDyess, Rasheed, and Hamilton are all 30 and over. Prince is 28 and has played a lot of games. This is a team on the verge of rebuilding. Stuckey is a young player who has shown the ability to be the starting PG. This move was done for Stuckey. Billups had 3 years left on his contract. Bringing in Iverson clears up 20 million in cap space, plus Rasheed's 12 million, and gives Stuckey one more year to develop and the Pistons remain competitive. The Pistons rebuild and don't even miss the playoffs. It's unlikely they will make it to a 7th straight ECF, but I doubt they would've with Billups.

look at this monster...

Well just keep wishing for Bron, because you will be dissappointed.

And would just like to state that Billups may make the playoffs and do something with his new team more so than Detriot will this year.

Detroit is going to make the playoffs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

the 10 free agent class is deep. I'll settle for a Wade or Bosh, or Stoudamire. Hell Detroit will have enough room to sign Boozer and Wade so essentially Detroit would've traded Billups for Boozer and Wade. The flexibility is limitless. I don't know how you can't wrap your mind around this.

am I in love? beyond that point my friend...leading the league in double doubles (as usual), leading the league in dunks, rebounds, blocks, right up there in FG% (will probably finish 1st for the 3rd straight season), has drastically elevated his offensive and defensive game, just posted two 20/20 games back to back, landed a triple double this year...kid is ridiculous, and he plays for my club, I cant help but be in love //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Never said you wouldn't get any good players in the future numbnutz. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Stating you won't get Bron, unless he don't get signed by either us, NY or NJ, which is highly unlikely that 1 of those 3 teams wouldn't get him. I know the fuss they made about Bron going there, but he wont.

Also who wouldn't settle for Bosh, Wade, Boozer or Stoudamire?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

The Pistons wouldn't be able to sign two of those players or one for that matter, had they not traded Billups.
