Hey folks, 1st thread, really like the forum.

I need some help here, I was listening to music "pretty loud" when all of a sudden both amps shut off. I have a fuse at the battery and then a distributor block in the trunk with 2 more fuses going to each amp. The fuses have not blown, I tripple checked all of them, and when I turn the car on the amps still do not turn on. I am 100% sure the amps are not blown in any way so I was was thinking it could be the trigger wire where it is not supplying the necesasry current to turn the amps on, which leads me to beleive it could be something with my HU. I thought I would ask the pros out there before I took it to a shop or something.

I aprpeciate the help people.

Checked the inline fuse?

Originally posted by mp3master yes I did, but all seems ok. ..... when you say inline fuse, do you mean the fuse @ the batterry? or the fuses on the amps?
At the battery. Take it out of it's holder and make sure it is not blown or discolored.

just went and checked and they seem fine, I took the inline fuse out, looked good (not discoloured) so i put it back, and the 2 30amp fuses on one of the amps also look fine. so i'm stumped:confused:

Why do you think that your amps are not blown?

The reason why I think my amps are not blown, because it happenned at the exact same time. If I was drawing too much current I would have blown the fuses. At full power for my kicker I need a 60amp fuse and full power on my USAMP I need a 50 amp fuse. The inline fuse at the front of the car is only 60 amps, so in my opinion (I could be wrong) the fuse at the battery would have blown before damaging my amps. any thoughts? am i wrong on that note (I hope not)

hey guys, I just obtained a voltmeter and it seems that the trigger wire (checked from the back of the HU) from my HU is dead.... oh well, I felt it was time for a new HU anyways.

Thanks for the help though!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
