Odd amp issue

Hello I'm new to this forum and hope yall can help me.

Installed a Dual head unit and Kenwood sub amp in our 2008 Nissa Versa a year or so ago. Been great up until last week. Suddenly the amp won't come on if the car is running. If I turn to the car to auxiliary position, the amp plays fine. Start the engine and it won't come on. The lights on the amp blink and you can hear what sounds like a relay clicking on and off. Sometimes after running the car for a few miles, it might come on...but not always.

I've checked the voltage with car on and off, at the amp, and its 12v off and 13v with car running.

Thanks in advanced.

Sounds like an issue with the head unit and signal wire. If the head unit is old I would replace it or if you wanna be cheaper about it. Run the signal wire to a cigarret lighter if you take it out there should be two wire three wire if it has an illumination light around it. You can wire it to either hot wire unless the cigarret lighter work while car is off

when the car is running put a jumper from remote to power on the amp and see if it still happens. when testing voltage were you reading direct off the amp on both 12v and ground or refferenced a ground from elsewhere? double check resistance on ground when car is and isnt running as well.
