Universal healthcare either requires rationing or a two-tier system not unlike what we have now. Generic healthcare for the poor and middle classes, good healthcare for the wealthy. By definition, universal healthcare is a social policy.

Well that's the thing. America has this idea that these private companies should put forth the effort to creat the markets. The rail barons where in it for the money which screwed over our rail infrastructure to a 1950s standard. If the government had the balls then to over see it we wouldn't be in this mess. As far as renewable energy, yes it's costly but what new thing isn't? we have oil pumping out our veins, and the Saudis have us by puppet strings. Their rich in oil, it's bananas. Have you seen Dubai? Did you know that the majority of millionaires have stock in oil?
What mess? Economic cycles are supposed to happen. Guess what...we will have another recession, and another, and another, and another...until people are obsolete. We cannot have high growth without creating recessions.
