OA vs Memphis

I'm having a hard time making a decision. I currently have a single HPO 10" woofer on a 300w rockford amp. I'm VERY happy with this sub, thus far, it has great detail, I'm actually very surprised how good kick drums sound on it. Not only that but it does very well (for a 10" woofer) on lows, there's not a single note in "Put On" that it doesn't play with gusto, and with that it also has decent output for what it is.

I have a transaction lined up to buy another HPO10, my plan was to buy it, and then play them off of my RUBI2500 @ 4ohms and turn the gain down a bit so they see around 500w-600w. However, I was contemplating selling the HPO I have, and picking up an OA15, and running off the RUBI @ 2 ohms, and DMMing the amp to around 1000w.

My only concern is that the OA won't sound as good as the HPO's. Not because it's a 15" woofer, but because the HPO's are great sounding drivers. I know the 15 is about 20% more cone area, but will I really notice that?

I liked the OA I was using a while back and picked up one of the new v2's while they were/are still on sale. They're a very good sub for sure. Personally if you like the HPO's I would just get another 10, though. You already have one of them and you know you like them.

I don't mean to offend anyone or talk bad but memphis is overrated and over expensive flea market brand. The sound quality of the oa will blow u away. I do agrte with kangaroo. U already have one so get another.

The HPO series from Memphis is quite a bit older. The sub is not "flea-market quality" It has a nice cast basket and a pretty hefty motor for a 250w rms sub, far from flea market quality.

I really just want to try the OA to diversify myself, I'm sure I'll be happy either way. I know both subs are good products. at worst I can buy the second HPO and sell them to finance the OA sub.
