Not exactly that easy. After three years, he has to petition the court for the deed. I'm sure that will take more then $16 and a lot more time to have done. Depending on the judge it could become very difficult at that point.

I'm an idiot? Perhaps you should read said law prior to making such claims. It only shows your lack of general knowledge is all. A petition is only saying that you will be heard in court(if it is accepted by the court, it does not have to be). It does not mean that you will get what you want in anyway. Depending on the judge's views it can go many different ways.

Maybe you should read the law and then speak with a lawyer to see what I'm talking about. I would bet there will be many more loop wholes to jump through before it is all over and done. Just because it would appear that he is free and clear means nothing. He has to go before the court and convince them that this law applies to the situation. Then the judge has a right to rule as he interprets the law. Not to mention even if they find in his favor they will make him liable for taxes for the whole time he has "claimed" the property and any other fees that apply to that situation.

Just because you heard part of a law does not mean you know what will happen. You should think before speaking.

I'm sorry you are short on intelligence but even you must understand that law does not work the way you think it will and a court system is far worse at adjusting things as needed.

I would expect you will retaliate with more...who do you think you are..and you should know..and more name calling, along with no facts or even a hint of intelligence other they the fact you can type. But my point does still stand. He has to petition the court to even be heard. A judge can simply deny him that right and force him to try again and again...or a judge can interpret the law different and side against his claim. It is basic info really, nothing special there.
