Yes like caulking silicone, just don't over do it

You want something that will dry and be flexible as your surround will be moving up and down rapidly.

More than likely it won't be set right/glued right and the sub will be ruined.

The silicone will work fine, I've had to do this to a couple subs before and it works flawlesly.

If you don't over do the silicone it will look fine, but ofcourse you'll be able to see the silicone.

No, just get some type of silicone caulk, any will work fine
