now for the big question, active or pasive

I think I have decided on getting some Cerwin Vega V-Max 65's. Now the big question is, should I attempt to go active for the first time? Does it make that big of a difference on a 2-way comp. set, is it that difficult? I have searched and I can't seem to find a deffinent answer to the difficulty of it. If I should attempt it, what crossover should I get?

its not hard if you know what you're doing.... but from reading your post... just use the passive crossovers for now.. it will be far easier.. and you can go active anytime you want if you change your mind..

If you have the means to go active now, go for it. Just make sure you understand exactly what is entailed. There are some great threads here and over at http://www.diymobileaudio.com with all the info you should need.

IMO if you want to go active then get DIY drivers instead of a pre-boxed comp set...
