Noticed something at Bestbuy...

I went there to check the Alpine clearance prices that everyone was bragging about. The prices were not that great but I noticed something odd. The display board for all of their speakers (3.5" - 6x9") were all powered with 5 different Rockford 200a's. An amplifier that hasn't been sold for several years. I guess even they know the new stuff is not as good.

More than likely, their Car Audio Department manager was just too lazy/incompetent to change them out.
yeah thats probably more the case......best buy stores wouldn't want to deter you from buying their equipment so therefor they wouldn't make it appear as if it sucked. it probably comes down to laziness.

I might call the district office, point out their mistake, and offer to take them off their hands. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

They use the same amps at the BB near me. I tried to buy them one day for $20. I had the sales guy but the manager said they couldn't sell them used because they don't sell them new. It seemed like a load of shit though. I'll keep trying!

If the amps are hidden behind the boards, why do they need to be the latest / greatest? No need to expense out the cost to replace the amps each time a new model comes out. *shrug*

the best buy around here is always broken, their subs/amps/speakers never go on becuase kids go in and break it all the time and they are too lazy to fix it haha

Lol same here, I thought it was just the stores around here. None of the subs work, ever. Only half of the headunits are working, and only one set of speakers work. Its an awesome place to demo car audio overall //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

CC and Sound Advice are a little better, but not much.

I think you missed the point. Those old Rockford amps are awesome and are slightly difficult to come by.

It's fun to clip the shit out of their subs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The amps are in plain view. Five of them. Each one dedicated to 5 or more speakers on the demo boards.
