I'm trying to pick out a new amp for my substage seen in my sig. I currently have a 300.1. I'm thinking I want to upgrade to a JL Audio 500/1 or an Alpine PDX 1.600. It seems the JL is better with the exception of size. Size is a big factor for my install because I've got extremely limited space. I'm wondering if I will notice a difference in bass from 150w to 250w. Many say that you won't notice a difference and many disagree. What's your experiance?

Would it be safe to run 300w per sub if their rms is 250w? I'd hate to destroy them right out of the box.

If you set the gains correctly and you will be golden.

And 100 watts should be noticeable because you're not running a ton of power....

Once you get up to 1500 watts it starts getting harder to tell...anyways, good luck with your purchase and install.

Each enclosure is wired to a 4ohm load so, if I understand correctly, it will be a 2ohm final load.
