Not your Mom's stereo.

My Mom unfortunately got a brand new car back in 2003 and it didn't come with a CD player standard. I know that in-dash changers can come cheap and at high quality, but my Mom's 53 years old. She's not going to be able to figure out the ones with flashing lights and 37 buttons.

Can you suggest simple, affordable and quality options? Or should she just go back to the dealer?

an entry level alpine radio. is pretty easy to use.

just tell her to go to bestbuy or circuitcity and pick out a $40 one that she likes. chances are it will be simple.

why dont u just get her a 10 disc changer too put in the trunk and have a controller? only has 8-10 buttons and is simple.

LOL interesting picture there of that stereo but the idea is to get RID of the cassette and get a CD hahaha

Most entry level headunits arent' too confusing. Mostly a volume knob, radio control and a very basic EQ, not much more than a stock deck in alot of cases. Maybe a 9827?

2003 Sable makes it a bit more complicated, because it's a combined climate control/radio pod and I THINK the only CD player versions are the ones with digital climate controls, which wouldn't be compatible with the stock plugs in your car. In other words, finding a factory CD player on Ebay probably isn't an option. Also, installing a new head unit in that vehicle can be tricky if you haven't done it before, and you'll need a pretty expensive kit.

Most brands have entry level models that are designed for ease of use instead of maximum bells/whistles. I've always liked JVC for starter head units that are reliable and not hard to figure out.
