Not really a vs thread...

With the given space, why not 2 12"s?
Most of my systems have been 2 12's. I wanna try something new and I like the single sub setup.

Plus that's more $$$ I gotta put into subs, box, and power supply.

I understand, I like being different too. Plus it's a better wow factor when you show up ppl with multiple subs using only 1 driver.
Exactly lol! Plus everybody around here is an alpine nut hugger and don't shut up about type r's.

how would a d4 coil be louder than d1 if the both at 2 ohm?
hit up Ed about that. He made a video about too, he can explain it better than I can.

Why not, I'll give it a shot. Basically when wired parallel (D4 coils), each coil is receiving the power simultaneously, meaning the power goes through each coil at the same time. (At the same impedance) The D1 coils wired in series means that one coil (coil 1) receives the power at the +, goes through that coil to its -, then moves to coil 2 at it's +, then to it's -, back it it's +, transfers to the coil 1 -, back to it's +. Instead of going through both coils at the same time. Both coils reacting to the power will be louder than each coil receiving power separately. The coils wired parallel will heat up faster than series coils though (also depending on the power they are receiving and cooling).

I know I suck at explaining but I tried. Hit up Ed for a more detailed answer or watch the youtube video he did.

I usually get a demo of their system first. Ya know, let them talk about how loud they are and that no one in the city could possibly be any louder. Then I give them a demo of my setup (not the current one in my sig, that setup is temporary) and change their whole world! Lol It's one of the main reasons why I keep upgrading!

If you could squeeze 4.5 net, then a custom tc 5200 18 would be nasty as hell. Although you're look at a 700-800 build for the driver.

A tc 5200 15 would work fine in 3 cubes ported //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

That always happens here lol. People will have like two sealed 15s on some crap boss amp or something and think it does what it says and also thinks since that they have 15s they are the loudest around, then they hear my two 10s and are completely in the wtf state of mind lol.

Lol

This one kid had 4 fusion 10's in a sealed box in an 98' Chevy blazer when I had my 97' Chevy blazer with 4 18's. He was "beating" (more like quietly thumping) his system in the parking lot on base near his dorm. Kid had a few people crowded around him when I pull up and was like, that's pretty cool. He was like, yeah, I'm the loudest on base and I said yeah, probably...but not in the city. I walked away to go do something and when I came back, he had just finished demoing some song (idk what type of crappy music he was listening to). I got in my blazer, he looks over and me and gave me that nod like (what up). Then I turned mine on with the door still open and took my time to get the door closed and the windows rolled down (all while the system was beatin) then drove away slowly. Lol I could still see all the ppl standing near his truck and they were looking at me leaving haha. Good times...

Haha! Same here the second I get my gear installed I'm online looking at my next setup lol. My single dub7 in my eclipse made people around here bail lol.
