not noticing much difference...

you went from a box that was sub angled forward, up with a port up on the passenger side up.to a box wth subs forward and ports up on both sides. not realy a fair comparison.can you face subs and port up?if so try that and put the port on the drivers side

I was thinking maybe the loud your looking for is louder then im thinking .. my 2 cvr 15's bearly gave my any satisfaction .. I like my bass a particularly suiting me as alot of people may.I was just replying off thread tittle as goin from 1 to 2 subs should have been atleast noticably louder .

With that said go big or leave it alone .

Step it up sumthing like 2 hdc3 , 15's aluminium btl ect..ect .. 4kwrms or better..

the single sub box actually has a slot port on both sides not just one side, so the port up part didnt change, only the way the subs were facing. and i was under the impression that subs forward port up is generally the best way to go in a truck install. i dont have room to go subs up though, not enough depth, i can barely fit it the way it is, my seat is resting against the box as it is right now

as mentioned your box was a fail. You needed 2cubes NET more and you'd have been very happy with the SDC's.

2 12" HDC's off a 3500.1 would do well out of the trunk, but still won't be so loud you have to turn it down. Majority of loud daily trunk set ups do around 140-145dB's playing music and that just isn't going to make many people turn it down.

Either do a wall or get an SUV...

this is a TRUCK, it doesnt have a trunk, so it isnt as hard to get loud as a trunk car, but i dont care about numbers, all i care about is louder to the ear as i have no way of getting it metered anyway. the box wasnt a "fail" its well within the recommended specs for the subs. they say 3-4 cubs per sub.. they have 3.25 each.. while thats not on the larger end of the scale, its still within the recommended.

I've built a TON of HDC/SDC boxes and that was way too small. Yes it will work, but it won't be close to optimal as you found out. I've done anywhere from 3-5cubes net and 4.25 seems to be the sweet spot most of the time.

can you fit 8.5net at 35Hz as that will kill on the lows and be loud to the ear? I've built several like that for SDC's.

Currently running 2 12" SDC's off a 1200D in the trunk and it's very respectable for a budget set up. Nothing like the wall I had, but I'm happy with it for everyday listening...

im maxed out on width and depth, only way i can go is up, i built this box as big as i could without going past the rear window but it looks like i might have to...but if im gonna rebuild a box, i wanna try out some different subs while im at it... these are the only decent subs ive ever had, all my other subs were cheap crap. i just want to explore what other companies have to offer.

would i get more output if i went to one 18 on like 2200-2500 watts in a box thats like 6-7 cubes? i know i would be losing some cone area. but i would be doubling power and i would have a properly sized box for the sub, i was thinking maybe a btl 18 off a sundown 2500

your running your amp at 1ohm im guessing having alot of box rise and making no power am i right
yes im running it at 1 ohm, but im not sure how much my box rise is. but now that you mention it, it doesnt really feel like 1200 watts should feel... or sound i should say

btw your tuned to low the audioques dont seem to like to low of tuning it kills there ouput and makes them peeky
thats another reason i want to get different subs, when i had just one sub tuned to 38 hz it really didnt hit the lows at all, so this time i tuned a tad lower to see if it would help and it did for the lows, its not really peaky at all, it actually pretty flat to be honest, but i want to get a sub that likes a low tuning cause i do love the lows

rase tuning to 38 get 10 ga wires from amp to subs and what port area do you have
i have 2 6" aeros and i have 12 guage knuconceptz speaker wire which is PLENTY big enough for the power im running, i see no reason to get 10 gauge for the power im running

iwould try tuning higher but that just me just cause your tuned to 38 does not mean you lose your lows you will gain box space witch will help lows and your tuned to low for the trucks peeks

i have a hd in 18 in 8.5 cubes on a gp 3000 pro at .5 with 2 6 inch aeros tuned to 38 and it loves the lows like 150s at 32 btw i have like 12 amercan bass hds for sale and 2 dc lvl 5s and a audiopulse axis and a re mt 18
