2.36^3 Sealed Truck Enclosure(Behind the Seat) - Polyfill

2x Kicker CompVT 12" 2-Ohm(Parallel wired to 1-Ohm)

Hifonics Txi 1008D Class D Mono(1000 rms at 1-Ohm)

Supposedly 500watts per 12" subwoofer.

Are shallow mounts really that bad? Because with a subwoofer whose RMS rating is 400watts, and slightly overpowering the subwoofer by sending it 500watts, why does it take to have the gain set to 0.2v, the bass eq to 5db, low pass to 70hz and the headunit eq settings to bass +8db, and treble to +8db to even get any real bass response from it.

Of which, this bass response is often muddy and horrible sounding and still not very loud compared to a system using two 12" Kicker CVR's in a 2.5ft^3 sealed box running off an amplifier giving them only 250watts a piece.

Supposedly with overpowering the subwoofers I could play it safe and turn down any/all bass boost overclipping bullshit and still get very loud bass response minus the muddy shit I get now.

But I guess that isn't the case because CompVT's can not produce bass that would be clean and loud?

Yet, turning the volume up on my head unit causes my head unit to shut off and come back, which is just great. Is it really impossible to get a decent clean yet loud bass out of a behind the seat sub stage in a regular cab truck? Since the mounting depth of a truck enclosure restricts the use of any subwoofer with a serious magnet/motor.

Lovely,

I turned the Bass EQ to 0, bass boost to 0, gain to 4.5v.

Realized that the 6.5" woofer in the door was actually hitting harder than the two 12" compVT's which had almost no movement whatsoever.

Seriously what gives?
