Not Loud Enough!!

Currently I have

2 15'' Type R

1 Hifonics Brutus 1606

Kinetik 800

JVC Arsenal HU

Kicker 5.25's

Pioneers 6x9's

I want to start over and Im thinking of selling my subs and box (which is "PREFAB") and doing 4 12''s with the same amp and a custom box. Its loud compared to the previous system which Im embarrassed to admit I had, but I want LOUDER!! Can I get louder if I sell the Type Rs and box for $500 and drop an addtional $100 for a total of $600 to spend on a custom box and 4 12''s? It would be in the trunk of my 98 Cadillac. And the box is a vented Audio Enhancers

For a budget system, you should be looking at running more cone area with less motors, not more motors.

If you have this custom box made, it will likely eat up a good portion of your $600 budget right there. That'd leave you with what... like $75 per 12" sub maybe? Yeah... Im unimpressed with the setup already.

For a small budget, go with a single high quality driver. If you insist on cone area, get an 18.

I was trying to save room with the current system but a wise old man at the local shop told me "If you want the BOOM you gotta give up the room. So Ill have to see whats the biggest box I can fit in my trunk and get back to you after I get off. As far as more cone area goes, one 18'' doesnt seem like it would out do 2 15''s. If so please teach me how!!!

The R's are VERY picky with the box they are in... especially with 15's.. Id DEFINITELY get a custom box made, or make it yourself...

Also... I dunno the specs on that amp, but i'd be willing to say its not giving you more than 2000w...which is about the MINIMUM you want to give 2 15's

its def. your setup, and amp, not the subs..

also there is no way that amp can feed 4x 12's

^^I think that amp is like 1200w rms?? which would be good for one 15" type R. My vote, as far as on a budget, is to build a better box to specs for the 2 15's and get another one of those amps(or sell the amp and get one bigger amp) and have one per sub. This will make it sound better and be louder for not much more money.

1600 rms so each sub is getting 800. Sound like your suggesting adding another amp or a larger amp. If add another amp wont I need another batt too?

I think Ill get another amp and build a custom box. This should be alot louder Im hoping. Id hate to spend another $300 and hear a minimal difference. Im in the military and we dont get paid that much!!!

that amp is also over rated //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Custom ported box, more power (sell the hifonics), beefed electrical, keep the Arghs.

And you should get metered so we know what we need to be louder than (baseline). Find a TL and get a score.

Thanks for the help. I think Im gonna find a new amp and build another box. Any suggestions? I was lookin at the GP3000 by Crunch. I know its the same company but Im a poor man.
