I'll be honest, when I see all the numbers I just kinda John Kuthe on them.
I don't get it. At least I am smart enough to say it.

Here are my box dimensions, can you tell me how they look?

Width: 23"

Depth: 16 1/2"

Height: 13 1/2"

Gross Airspace: 2.27 Cu.Ft.

Net Airspace: 2.0 Cu.Ft.

Port Dimensions: 12" x 1 3/4" x 22 3/8"

Tuned @ 33Hz

Port Volume: .27

yeah yours is basically close to a prefab specs wise. 1.85 cubic feet tuned to 33.5hz but very low port area limiting a good bit of output. usually should be above 12 port per cube and thats the low side. Yours is 11. Basically your current box is sort of choking the sub. If your box is double baffled then its even smaller and tuned higher. I'd really look into getting a properly designed box first. You are not gonna get anywhere with that box.

@CSCStang get a proper design for a new box is where I would start

Any woodworking skills? I can hook you up with a much better box design with cutsheet that will make it pretty easy. Pm me if interested..

PM incoming, I think I will sacrifice some more space and just run both 12's.

This should solve my problems in the cheapest way possible.

These same 12's in a better box on a Fosgate 1,500 in a trunk was way more bass than I need so a better box in this hatchback should more than do the trick.

I can work with wood it is just the carpet skills I don't have

Carpets overrated imo unless you want it.....a bare box think if it as a way to make it look how ever you want. Personally I like rhino liner or I do like splatter stuff to mine carpets to meh

No I am only interested in black carpet for my box.

Well if I made it from birch and stained it I might like that.

I did a Lethal Injection 12 on a Crescendo bc2k in my bro n laws Eclipse a few years back. It was crazy loud for 1 12 and not a ton of power. Around 144-145.

1 12 in a good box can rock a hatchback on the power you have
