I wouldnt say that he is either of those. I dont think he was something of a real "prophet" but he must have had some gift... Many of his predictions have come true, to some extent. Hell, he somewhat predicted the fall of the twin towers.

Prophet, no. But he did have some kind of a gift, I don't know all that much detailed information about him, so I won't say much other than I believe he did have some sort of gift.

He made a lot of predictions that we can now make reference to, and say came "true," but they could be no more true than the horoscopes we read...which you can relate many things in your life to, but that really - in the end - are nothing.

This forum needed a little intellectual stimuli, hopefully spawning intellectual conversation.

Prophet as in one who holds the ability to predict the future or foretell events.

a prophet in a biblical sense is one that speaks on behalf of God and warns the people of impending doom in advance unless they change their ways.

for example jonah, isaiah, jeremiah(sp?) those are some of my fav. prophets of the old testiment
