Noobie

Hey everyone. I'm new to the site and wanted to say hi. I have a 00' Pontiac

***** Am WS6. I have the stock h/u hooked up to an Alpine MRP-F300 powering two kicker 6.5" subs in the sail panels and some JBL components in the front doors.

I'm having a problem with the r/f speaker crackling and whining after the radio has been on for about 15 to 20 minutes. I've taken it back to the shop that installed all the components and they said nothing was wrong. I do not listen the radio very loudly. I have it loud enough to hear over the road noise in my car. What do you think the problem is?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, Bret

you take it in there and make them listen to the noise and insist that something is indeed wrong and then threaten small claims or never go there again crappy shop IMO.
Trust me, that's the next step. I was just hoping for some input as to what might be wrong. I do not know much about this stuff and I'm sure they will just try to blame it on my stock h/u and tell me I need to buy a aftermarket h/u.

I think it could be some type of grounding issue. I am not a big fan of stock hu's and aftermarket audio componets unless the stock hu is used in conjunction with a clean sweep or an equivelant.
